  • Michelle Bachmann is considering running for Al Franken's seat. Minnesota Republicans would be insane to nominate her over, say, Tim Pawlenty, but the Trump wing of the Party may try to rally behind her.

It's also wildly appropriate that she announced this on the damn Jim Bakker Show. Yes, if you didn't know, Jim Bakker started another televangelism empire after being released from federal prison, with a new wife, and this time he sells "End Times" survivalist food like giant tubs of queso and potato soup.

Former GOP congresswoman and presidential candidate Michele Bachmann says she is considering running for Democratic former Sen. Al Franken’s Minnesota seat.

    • Bachmann back and canoodling with Bakker? How can that be? I thought somebody had flushed...

          • Bannon takes shots at Don Jr., Kushner, and Manafort in new book.

Bannon mockingly refers to these three as 'the brain trust':

He is particularly scathing about a June 2016 meeting involving Trump’s son Donald Jr, son-in-law Jared Kushner, then campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya at Trump Tower in New York. A trusted intermediary had promised documents that would “incriminate” rival Hillary Clinton but instead of alerting the FBI to a potential assault on American democracy by a foreign power, Trump Jr replied in an email: “I love it.”

The meeting was revealed by the New York Times in July last year, prompting Trump Jr to say no consequential material was produced. Soon after, Wolff writes, Bannon remarked mockingly: “The three senior guys in the campaign thought it was a good idea to meet with a foreign government inside Trump Tower in the conference room on the 25th floor – with no lawyers. They didn’t have any lawyers.

“Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad shit, and I happen to think it’s all of that, you should have called the FBI immediately.”

            ********

Bannon has criticised Trump’s decision to fire Comey. In Wolff’s book, obtained by the Guardian ahead of publication from a bookseller in New England, he suggests White House hopes for a quick end to the Mueller investigation are gravely misplaced.

“You realise where this is going,” he is quoted as saying. “This is all about money laundering. Mueller chose [senior prosecutor Andrew] Weissmann first and he is a money-laundering guy. Their path to fucking Trump goes right through Paul Manafort, Don Jr and Jared Kushner … It’s as plain as a hair on your face.”

Former White House strategist quoted in Fire and Fury, by Michael Wolff, as saying: ‘They’re going to crack Don Junior like an egg on national TV’

dossier bought and paid for by Hillary used to initiate fisa request by strzoks fbi investigation per her post election book

fisa request leads to wiretap by fbi against manafort and carter

              so in a nutshell

"Because if they used a fake dossier to justify the wiretaps of Page and Manafort, that means a Democrat administration was wiretapping top officials of a Republican presidential campaign on false pretenses. That’s worse than Watergate, because you’re not only bugging your opponent, you’re also corrupting law enforcement to help you get away with it." http://canadafreepress.com/article/g...-opening-the-r

I think just about every one of your factual assertions are wrong.

I also think the conclusion you quoted by whoever that Canadian is almost entirely wrong both in its premises and it's logic.

I'm sure that's no surprise, and I'm not gonna change your mind but whatever.

                      • I'd love to see somebody give this the infomercial treatment -- the customer at the pump, fumbling and dripping, frowning in great frustration, smelling his clothes theatrically, until he finds salvation through a smiling gas-station attendant. Sighs, relaxes his shoulders, and savors the lemon-fresh smell of his unsoiled clothing.

Also the claim that Flynn was just a random, unauthorized citizen attempting to subvert the government of the US, during the transition, he became a special government employee of sorts, allowed to make those calls, so the Logan act wouldn't apply.

this feels like the 0bama administration using the Intelligence apparatus of the US to spy on and entrap a political opponent, sedition of the newly democratically elected president. FISA granted with an unverified dossier that was bought and paid for by the DNC, that warrant used to spy on transition officials, including Manafort and Page, the unmasking of Gen Flynn's name, and the illegal leaking of it to the press. Hell, even the sanctions placed on Russia, the transition team WOULD HAVE to call and reach out to Russia after that. And here the IC is sitting there waiting to hit record on that conversation. Then you have the intelligence widely distributed throughout the government as Evelyn Farkas, deputy assistant secretary of defense under Obama, admitted to on the air with MSNBC?s Mika Brzezinski.

?I was urging my former colleagues and, frankly speaking, the people on the Hill, it was more actually aimed at telling the Hill people, get as much information as you can, get as much intelligence as you can, before President Obama leaves the administration,? Farkas, who is now a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, said.

?Because I had a fear that somehow that information would disappear with the senior [Obama] people who left, so it would be hidden away in the bureaucracy ... that the Trump folks ? if they found out how we knew what we knew about their ... the Trump staff dealing with Russians ? that they would try to compromise those sources and methods, meaning we no longer have access to that intelligence.?

I'm telling you, this is the type of shit that banana republics do, the attempt to overthrow a democratically elected president.
