Alabama's Sec of State says this is nonsense and the vote will be certified as planned.

Roy Moore filed an election complaint on Wednesday, alleging potential election fraud in Alabama’s special election and urged a delay in certifying the results.

                  • Quick takes: one of his 'election experts' is a JFK conspiracy theorist who claims to have 'mathematically proven' there was a conspiracy to kill JFK. Also that there's been 'seven suspicious deaths' in the wake of the Las Vegas shooting......oooookay

Also, his filing claims that because the results did not perfectly match up with exit polls, pro-Jones fraud took place. That's....an interesting argument considering John Kerry won the exit polls in 2004 and Hillary won them in 2016.

Seems like the state of Alabama is giving these claims the respect they deserve.

Yeah, he's being ignored. As long as the judge doesn't grant an injunction, we 're good.

                        • Relevant to that China/US economic power discussion. So many trends overwhelmed by China's rise -- the Internet, the euro, the global financial crisis, oil prices.

Just eyballing it, seems like the UK has done better than France since the financial crisis. Maybe that says something about the UK's openness to securities and London's #2 spot in the global financial system compared with France's historic preference for bread-and-butter banking.

                            • Hack: that chart of the size of various economies with China leading way wrong. China has about an $ 11.5 Trillion GDP and the US has a $ 19.5 T GDP. How do they come up with $23T?

Note also that Canada has replaced Russia as the 10th largest economy.

Also, in reading the article, notice the hockey-stick beginning in about 1800 measuring the welfare of people in general. Corresponds nicely to the advent and dominance of capitalism and markets as an economic system.
