As it should be. A one-loss Bama team is guaranteed a spot as long as Lord Saban is there. Once he retires/dies and we hire the next Mike Shula, we can shift the discussion to Weedeater or Belk Bowl.

Since 2009, Alabama has been the highest rated "X-loss" team every year but 2, and the highest rated comparable "X-loss" team in all of those seasons. In 2013 when they lost on the Kick-6 AND Auburn then won the SEC title game. Alabama was the 2nd highest 1-loss team. And in 2017, when 3 other 1-loss teams won conference championships.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

This year was a gift. Thank god Ohio State established the non conference champ playoff berth. Thank you Buckeye Nation."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

Since 2009, Alabama has had 6 1-loss regular seasons. They were gifted the chance to play for the national title in 5 of those seasons.

We were not gifted the chance in 5 of those 6. We were the best team in the nation.
Let me say that again: 9 of the last 10 with one loss or less going into the bowls. Just great consistency.
Haven't lost to an unranked team in over a decade. Never, in the history of the AP poll (since 1936), lost to an unranked team by 30 or more. Under Saban, more wins, more championships, better win% ...than every other team in the nation.

CFP Selection Criteria:
1. Is your name Alabama? If Yes, then highest ranked X-loss team. If no, then proceed to #2.
2. It doesn't fucking matter. You're not Alabama.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
