Please support the Forum by using the Amazon Link this Holiday Season
Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.
Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.
If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!
Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.
Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

The Michigan Senate stoops to new lows of stupidity in its groveling for NRA dollars. As a firearm owner and CPL holder, I find this legislation incredibly idiotic. Hopefully Snyder will veto again.

Isn't that what the anti gun lefties always bitch about? Back ground checks, and additional training over top of additional training?
I get that you would rather have the gun free slaughter zones where anyone can walk in and face absolutely no return fire, but history has shown over and over and over and over and over that is highly ineffective to reducing mass causalities.

DAMN. INTERESTING. Good coverage. Still, I have yet to find any coverage of this that marries the financial side to the political side. FOLLOW THE MONEY.
Saudi Arabia's attorney general says the kingdom has called in 208 people for questioning in a sweeping probe, estimating that $100 billion has been misused through embezzlement and corruption in past decades.
Saud al-Mojeb said in a statement on Thursday that seven people were released without charge, leaving 201 people still detained.
Critics and observers say the purge that has targeted top princes, officials, military officers and businessmen is a power grab by the crown prince to sideline potential rivals and critics.
An estimated 1700 bank accounts have been frozen.
Al-Mojeb says action was taken to suspend personal bank accounts, but did not disclose any figures. The government has also declined to name the individuals being questioned, saying it is respecting their privacy during this phase of the process.
$100bn. Saudi foreign reserves down from $700bn+ in 2014 to under $500bn now. Pretty easy to imagine they'll find significantly more in 1700 frozen accounts. Pretty easy to see an "anti-corruption drive" as financially motivated rather than just a consolidation of existing power. It may be a demonstration of already-consolidated power, but what it clearly is looking like is a financial windfall for a country with a very troubled financial future.Last edited by hack; November 9, 2017, 10:05 AM.
