  • Looks like Rory (and the beautiful swing that goes with) finally has reached his potential. Last player to win British and lead at halfway in PGA was Woods in 2000 at Valhalla--who shot 66-67. Woods by the way missed the cut, but had plenty of F-Bombs.

        • I know you have a very clear idea of how sick and tired I am of Brandon's shilling. It is embarrassing.

I believe we are incrementally moving towards in stadium advertising during games.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. JH chased Saban from Alabama and caused Day, at the point of the OSU AD's gun, to make major changes to his staff just to beat Michigan. Love it. It's Moore!!!! time

Woods has not won a Major in over 6 years, he's done. Has an outside chance at wining late like JN did when he won the Masters at what 47 or so, but still a remarkable career.

RORY MCILROY WINS SECOND STRAIGHT MAJOR AT PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

He became only the fourth player in the last century to win four majors at 25 or younger. The others were Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Bobby Jones, three of the game's greatest players.

              • I was amazed that Mickelson was able to seriously threaten for the title last evening. He nearly holed an off the green chip that had to be from 40-50 feet. That would have put him in a tie for a playoff for his 6th major. He has incredible touch with his short game and seems to have corrected his putting woes. But this could well have been his last chance to seriously contend at that level.

I took my grandson to the Memorial tournament in Columbus 4 years ago and we followed Ricky Fowler who led all the way until late on the final day when he drove a tee shot into a pond on the back 9. He is a champion in waiting IMO. And he led yesterday down the stretch on the back 9.

Top level golf is high on my sports interest. It all started when I got to follow Ben Hogan win the US Open in 1951 at Oakland Hills. .........(this hodgkal guy must really be old!)

Tennis and golf keep me going until FB season starts.

                • Nah, Phil has while to go before he stops contending for majors. Maybe not consistently every one, but he'll be there for awhile yet. What a great weekend for the PGA though. The leaderboard was as good as you can draw up. Agree on Fowler, just a matter of time.

Sad news...Robin Williams found dead in CA at 63. Suspected suicide, unreal.

                    He was absolutely brilliant.

Saw him twice at stand up, once at Caesar's in Vegas and the second at the Hard Rock Casino in FLA.

                    • I've never heard anything about it, but wouldn't be surprised Williams was somewhat manic-depressive.
