This is known as deflection. When caught red-handed, or investigated with good reason as is the Trump campaign, point to someone else and scream "but but but look what he/she did!!!".
Yet another demonstration of the Trump's Propaganda Department's many tentacled media apparatus. Dems may be masters of relentless nothingburgers, but the GOP rises to a Goebbels level of disinformation and deflection. Neither are doing this country any good.

Under his command, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office boasted the highest percentage of Hispanic deputies, detention officers and staff in the state of Arizona. Moreover, he promoted more Hispanic officers to command positions than any other law enforcement agency in the state. On top of this, Arpaio has two grandchildren who are of Hispanic descent. To say he is biased again his own family members is absurd. Labeling him a racist for enforcing U.S. immigration law is a tired, exhausted, left-wing strategy that fails time and time again.
He's cost the county close to a $100 M in settled lawsuits and won 45% of the vote on his last try. Time to head off into the sunset, brave Sheriff Joe
Sheriff Joe arrested two Phoenix reporters in the middle of the night on BS charges that were proven the very next day to have no merit. The reporters won nearly $4m in a settlement with the county.
The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors this afternoon voted unanimously to approve a $3.75 million settlement for New Times' co-founders, whose false arrests in 2007 were orchestrated by Sheriff Joe Arpaio.Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin were taken from their homes in the middle of the night and jailed on misdemeanor...
