I see your point about Pence. I get that Trump shoots his own agenda in the foot, and Pence would not do that, and therefore be more effective. But I also think that Pence probably won't be making incendiary racist statements just to keep his base going, and I also don't think he would be an open and aggressive kleptocrat. Given population trends, I think it would be easy to undo things Pence does, Or two hope the courts restraining him. It would be harder to reestablish norms that Trump destroys, such as in the categories of corruption, foreign-policy, and overall behavior.
For what it's worth, Pence would enact policies that Dems hate much more. And he would do it much more effectively than the orange menace.
However, the danger of Trump is not his policies but the wholesale erosion of ANY political norms and restraints. Do you want the open frosting of this presidency to be the norm? Or the regular insults about perceived victimology from the Presodent? His danger goes well beyond any policy decisions.
And wtf with "Progs"? Where did you dingleberries pick up that shit?

You had some pretty advanced verbiage in there yourself. "Dingleberries", for example.
Overall though, if we're talking about a President Pence, that wil have meant that Trump was impeached. If Trump is impeached, that will have meant that, collectively, the American people will have established a bar that below which no politician can sink. Politicians will learn that there is not impunity. And we'll have a reminder to be on guard in the future. All those would be exceptionally positive things for the country. We'll have hit bottom on the good-governance front and we'll be on the way up from that low.
Well, I just turned it off about 10p last night. Bigger issues, much bigger, are at stake.
I'll wait to see how things turn out of if that Black Swan event, imminently possible with a hobbled US Government ..... Kim Jung-Un, for example, lobs a nuke towards Japan and it gets blown away by US deployed THAD and PAC-3 Patriot missiles.
Don't laugh.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
The blow back is the problem...... not to mention the Orange Menace in Chief would undoubtedly F... things up beyond all recognition igniting an economic malestrom that would screw up my retirement. Not to personalize it or anything.
