        • People are noticing what Beilein is doing. Look at how he has developed Jordan Morgan. Turned him into a really good big man. I usually can't stand AAU coaches, but I have to admit, this guy seems like he is thinking long term for his kid--not just how can he be a BMOC, but how can he continue to get better so that he gets to the NBA? Still might be a self-centered thing but at least he's trying to make sure his kid maximizes his potential.

          • Jordan Dumars has left UM hoops team, Mich. announces Monday. Beilein said "injuries have not allowed him to play at a level he expects."

            • That's too bad for him. I hope he gets healthy and can play somewhere else, if he wants to.

As far as recruiting goes, he was a walk-on so that doesn't free up a scholarship.

              • GR III showing up big at a combine:

UMHoops.com 2012 Michigan commitment Glenn Robinson III participated in Under Amour’s inaugural Grind Session camp over the weekend. The event was hosted in Chicago and featured 50 of the nation’s top players regardless of class. The combine style event featured traditional athletic testing as well as professional level instruction and drills.

Robinson measured very well during combine testing and recorded the highest vertical leap of all camp participants. Under Armour’s website lists Robinson with a 36-inch vertical leap, 12-foot vertical approach with measurements of 6′ 4.25″ (presumably without shoes) and 204 pounds. He also appears to have the best Combine 360 composite score that’s listed on the website with a mark of 298. You can find Robinson’s full testing results as well as scouting notes from around the internet after the jump.

                • I wish we could add McGary, but I think he's probably going to be a Dookie...

                  • I don't know about that. I know that's who his parents favor. However, his AAU coach favors us and he says GR III is his best friend.

He could also be viewed as somewhat of a savior here or a punctuation on Michigan's return to being a power.

Either way, we are heading towards being a consistent winning program.

Also, dooook doesn't seem to turn out very good pro-big men prospects. Just Brand and Boozer in the last 20 years, despite loads of McDonald's All-American's.

Maybe you could say the same about Beilein but he hasn't had the same talent to work with. He has made lower-ranked players better, though, so I think he can make a high-ranked player even better.

                    • McGary is exactly what the Wolverines need and Hardaway to stay around for awhile.

                      • McGary and Hardaway would be as good a 1-2 punch as any in the country.

If they add McGary, they will be a Final Four contender. Even without him, I think we'll have enough talent to be a top 8 team in 2012-13, if everyone returns that is supposed to.

You have to figure Morgan, Smot & Horford will continue to get better up front and we will be very deep on the wings with Hardaway, GR III, Stauskas and Vogrich. Burke and Brundidge will be Sophs and I think Bielfeldt can contribute as well.

That's a lot of talent. Add McGary and we're a beast.

                              • His AAU coach is pushing him to go somewhere that will develop him for the NBA. I think the argument about Duke not putting big men in the NBA is a good one.

Michigan doesn't have a track record yet under Belien, but if one looks at how Jordan Morgan has improved they know Belien is doing something right.
