...tried to cut-and-paste and actual picture of Alfred for you, PB, but you'll have to settle for this (unless you already bought the magazine, of course)

So how does M's incoming class look compared to MSU? And who do they lose?
Coming in for UM (with Rivals' ranking):
- McGary #3
- GR III #34
- Nik #79
Coming in for MSU
- Gary Harris #25
- Denzel Valentine #80
- Matt Costello #82
- Kenny Kaminski #84
UM loses:
- Zack
- Stu
MSU loses:
- Draymond Green - B1G Player of the Year
- Austin Thornton
- Brandon Wood
No wonder Izzo is acting funny. Even though his team will remain loaded, he's got good reason to be nervous. He thinks the right thing to do is turn up the pressure on his players, and maybe he's right. Or maybe the pressure will get to him and the program...Last edited by Detroit Dan; March 10, 2012, 07:09 PM.

Nobody had Cody Zeller as a projected one-and-done lottery pick but there he is landing in Detroit every time a Pistons fan plays Chad Ford's lottery machine and doesn't land in the top 3...
Agree with JD that it's telling that Burke isn't in the mocks. Bottom-line: there is a tiny sliver of a market for sub-six-foot players in the NBA. It's a huge psychological barrier even though six foot is undersized these days too. Only those sub-six-footers who are very proven at the college level get a sniff at the first round, a la Ty Lawson.
If I were Burke I'd hope that playing with next year's frosh get him into the Final Four, and that could raise his stock into the first round if he plays well that deep into the tournament. If not I'd give it another shot as a junior, and if that didn't work out I'd leave as a junior anyways. Hard to imagine there's anything he can do to help by staying for a fourth year and you risk injury. At that point, might as well try and stick on an NBA roster.Last edited by hack; March 10, 2012, 07:17 PM.

Couple of comments on the mock draft:
No Draymond Green?
I see Jordan Taylor there as a late 2nd round pick. Burke outplayed him pretty badly in their one encounter, I believe.
They have Kentucky with the 1st and 2nd picks! Plus #11 in 1st round and #5 in 2nd round. I assume they'll win the NCAA this year...

Yeah, Green projects as a 2nd rounder but I could see him sneak into the late first round. He's a "Tweener" but I think he can be an NBA player. He reminds me of a poor (but sane) man's Ron M W-P Artest. I'm not sure if he can be a full time SF in the NBA, though.
