  • Yes. Credit to Coach Bacari Alexander too. I think he's going to make a good Head Coach somewhere down the line.

    • This is all heresay but the stuff I've been reading points to McGary being down to Michigan or doook, with Michigan holding the edge. He still has a visit planned to UK, though.

We'll see but hopefully, MICHIGAN will come out on top.

      • Huge coup if he's a Wolverine, EXACTLY what M needs. I don't think he's a 1 & done either, imo he needs some refinement.

        • The impression I get is that the kid wants to come to Michigan, but the folks are telling him to take his visits. He had a great time during his Michigan visit.

          • Beilein visited his house this week. I think he can win Mitch's parents over. Coach is a class guy and I think coach K, while probably fairly classy himself, is a bit of a slickster while Coach Beilein strikes me as 100% genuine.

            • K comes across a bit wooden and polished, yeah.

              • Here is another thing to think about--if he comes to Michigan, he will be THE MAN, no question. Michigan isn't going to just get someone else next year to replace him the way Duke shuttles 5-star guys through their program. Even if he were to struggle with the transition, no way does Michigan stop throwing him out there to figure it out.

If you truly believe in Beilein as this AAU coach does, Michigan is a great place to go right now. It's a high profile-place without a lot of high-profile players, meaning there is lots of room to make a name for yourself very quickly. And Big Ten basketball has been very good as of late--probably just as good as ACC basketball. Plus Michigan is already bringing in some good talent, so he will have guys to play with--guys he's already played with and likes.

What's more fun--being the next in line at Duke, or being the guy behind the renaissance of Michigan basketball? Some would say Duke, but hopefully this kid says Michigan.

                • Mitch McGary has cancelled future school visits and plans on making his choice within the next month:

ESPN High School posted Mitch McGary’s latest blog update late Sunday evening. The blog details McGary’s life at Brewster, favorite music and also updates some very notable events in his recruitment. The notable developments: McGary hasn’t committed anywhere. He has cancelled all future visits, including Kentucky’s Midnight Madness. He plans to make his college decision […]

                    • I hope so. Even though he'd be a one-and-done, it would make for some exciting basketball at Crisler. Maybe he'd have so much fun, he'd stay for another year ...

I hope the leaves are right. Right now, it's a bit of a tease but I can't blame him for wanting to think things through.

                          • I'm not so sure he is a one-and-done. He might stick two years to make sure he is a lottery pick.

                            • I do wonder what will happen if the NBA lockout lasts all season. Will they even have a draft if things aren't settled?
