      • Brown's goal from last night. Not the greatest clip but you get the idea.

        • Unfortunately, the same Chris Brown that scored that spectacular goal vs. Miami (in the above clip ) will not be available for Friday's game vs. msu at Munn---he was automatically suspended for a game after being penalized for fighting with one minute to go in the Miami game. It's by rule that the one-game suspension follows any disqualification for fighting, and it is potentially a costly suspension, as Brown is one of the best offensive players on the Michigan team. Brown will be back for Saturday's game against sparty at Joe Louis Arena, though.

Even tho we're looking at a tough road game without a top scorer, I like our chances: We've been winning with tough defense and great goaltending being the keys, and we've been winning both at home and on the road. No goalie in College hockey is playing better than Hunswick over the last 2 months, and Michigan has developed into teh top defensive team in all of College Hockey ever since the return of Jon Merrill a month ago. They were already playing well without him, giving up about 2 1/2 goals per game since early December, but since his return the goals-against average has been cut in half, down to just 1 1/4 goals per game.

This weekend's key games might really sort out the tight race for 1st, besides Michigan facing sparty for a pair, ohio plays 2 at WMU and ND has a home-and-home series vs. 1st place Ferris.

Both games are televised this weekend, BTN Friday night and FoxSportsDetroit Saturday night.

            • Still no score 16 minutes gone in the 1st period, Hunswick as usual stellar in the net...now a stupid penalty on sparty as they get frustrated after a save by Hunswick and skate right into him slashing at an already-whistled-dead puck/

Michigan gets their 1st PP opportunity of the night with 4 minutes left in the 1st ...

                          • we converted on that goal by simply out-toughing, out hustling the sparties, and corralling a loose puck despite a lot of bumping and tripping on the part of msu---sparty tried everything but controlling the puck in the 5 seconds leading up to Lynch's goal!
