Looks like you nailed it, OT---we beat ohio Friday night in Columbus 4-0 (score was 2-0 most of the way; M scored twice in the first period, Shawn Hunwick was awesome between the pipes with 46 saves, and we added a couple of empty netters in the last 2 minutes).

Michigan is now 6-0-2 in their last 8 games and now just a point out of 3rd place.

Outdoor Hockey is next on Michigan's agenda: 5pm face-off Sunday vs ohio at Jacob (Progressive) Field in Cleveland, see it on the Tube on FoxSportsDetroit+ (Channel 664 on DirecTV).

      • Game on!

ohio trots out Archie Griffin for the ceremonial puck drop---WTF does he have to do with hockey?!

Cleveland looking cold and dreary---as usual...

        • As Mike posted last night (in the 2013 NHL Hockey Classic thread):

Hockey rinks in baseball parks make for the worst sight lines possible. I'd only go if it was in a football stadium.
That seems to be very true, from what it looks like on TV at this game in Cleveland. As opposed to last December's Big Chill at The Big House, the seats at Jacobs Field are a long way away from the rink.

              • Freshman Alex Guptil corrals a rebound and puts it away at 13:33 in the first period, with an assist by Chris Brown. BTW, Guptill and Kevin Clare got assists on Brown's eaarlier goal

                • Sounds like a lot of Michigan fans there at Cleveland, as the crowd came alive on both goals---GREAT show of support by Michigan Hockey Fans who trekked across the neutral zone into enemy space!

                  • Rob- can't find the game on Dish Network; is it still 3-0?

It was funny, that as the announcer was talking about how "....40,000 fans made their way downtown....", there were dozens of Michigan jerseys filling the stands. I think you're right in how many M fans are there.

                      • Paul---its 2-0 Michigan at the end of the first period, ohio has about 45 seconds or so left on the first power play of the game when the 2nd period starts.

I had Dish Network until 6 months ago, as long as you can normally get FoxSportsDetroit, you should be able to find FSD+, their "overflow" channel. Maybe go to MGoBlue.com and go to channelfinder to find out where it is on Dish.

                              • ohio penalty right off the faceoff, Michigasn gets a PP opportunity...

BYW, in case y'all missed it, ohio scored in the first minute of period 2, a PP goal with 1 second left in that PP that ended the first period.
