You're right there, Jamie. And then having to listen to them on ESPN with their defending of teh referee and what "he was thinking" when he "intended" to blow the whistle before the puck went in. My bad, the puck was in the net BEFORE the whistle blew. So we are just being screwed by the fucking retarded "intent to blow a whistle" rule, which may be the fucking stupidest rule in all of sports.
I don't understand why hockey is the one sport where the rules are based on when an official "thinks" about doing something instead of when he actually DOES something. Does football stop the clock when the official "thinks" about signaling for the clock to stop? No they wait for the signal. I really hate ESPN----instead of staying with the game at the 1st intermission, the ignore what's happened so far in the NCAA Championship Hockey Game and cover the damn yankmes and bosox and everything else that doesn't matter. Just wish they wouldn't act like this is a "minor" sportComment
