We won the title in the first year of a real playoff and the first year of the expanded playoffs. What a time to be alive.

              #2 Georgia
              #3 Texas
              #4 Penn State
              #5 Notre Dame
              #6 Ohio State
              #7 Tennessee

At one point it looked like OSU was going to put 60 on them. The ND defense took 2.5 quarters to wake up. Ohio State was clearly the best team in the playoffs, but it would have been interesting if the ND defense wasn't asleep the first half. It appeared 3rd Base was willing to choke it away at the end there.

The offense was rolling until the Egbuka fumble. Close to going up 38-15. Then we got a little bit overly cautious I think.

Notre Dame did themselves no favors in the first half with their edge containment especially the RDE. Against that offense, you have to pass rush with integrity especially when you are in man. If your ends start freelancing, Howard was going to take the 1st down.

It is too bad that the loss to Michigan will always be in the back of the minds Ohio State fans. Any time they think of this Championship they will remember that they loss to Michigan for the fourth straight time that year.

                      I'm OK with that

I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

Ohio State scored on 4 straight possessions, then kicked a FG, then fumbled at the ND 20 then went conservative and even then Howard missed an easy throw to Smith for a first down. At almost no point did ND actually stop OSU when the throttle was open. And they couldn’t.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
                        Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

Yeah, I forgot about Howard missing that simple pass. A first down there almost seals the game or at least makes them use all their timeouts still down two touchdowns.

That resulted in their ONLY punt.

The Michigan fans who are most vocal about Michigan's win this year are also the most hurt about this OSU championship. Flags fly forever and that is the true gut punch for them. This is the first true national championship in college football. History will remember the loss in November as an interesting footnote of this tremendous accomplishment.

Talent and Strangelove - on a personal level I congratulate you for OSU's win over Notre Dame, and capturing the National Title.

As a Michigan fan, I'm very familiar with gut punches, and you guys have had a few. But your boys were the most talented team in the tournament, and they proved it to everyone. The B1G is the toughest league in college football, and OSU's win solidifies that fact.

That being said, .. GFY ...
