  • Ohio State 34, Notre Dame 23

I posted this thread and stuck it so there's one place to post comments. For me, the most meaningful aspect of this game is that there are two teams vying for the NC and neither of them are from the SEC. I think this is the first year in like the last 10 that an SEC team hasn't been involved in the final rounds of the FBS, CFP and having an impact on who advances/wins the NC. This year the one SEC team that made the playoff (UGA) got bounced early by ND.

ND has a legit defense and that's going to determine the character of this game. I don't see ND doing well playing a shootout - exactly what CRD wants the game's character to be. He's relying on QB Will Howard and his talented receivers to jump on top early and then keep distance in the score between his Buckeyes and the Domers. Freeman will want to slow the game down ala, M's win in C-bus in November. Should be an interesting chess match - the Bucks are favored by with an O/U of 45

Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

Notre Dame doing what they need to do on that long methodical drive. Hard to imagine they can lean on Leonard like that the entire game though.

My boy Riley isn't going to last if they don't get some other guys involved in the offense
I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

Didn't get a chance to post this earlier. I don't know about a "conspiracy", but Ohio State's opponents have not been called for a single offensive holding penalty in the past 12 games. In 728 plays from scrimmage, not once. The odds of that legitimately happening against the No. 1 scoring defense in football is extremely low.

Ohio State's Ryan Day mad about CFP officials, holding penalties

Freeman and Leonard set the pace. 9m drive. 7-0 ND. ND testing a weak OSU interior defense. Just stay away from the perimeter.

Good answering drive. Smith involved more than last game already.

RPS +2. 7-7. Very balanced attack. Somewhat surprising. Figured Day would throw the long ball. Guess not. Can't see what Howard sees on NDs back end.

CRD using all his tools...OSU in control.

                    14-7.

If OSU"s D boots NDs offense off the fieldon this possession, that's it for me.

ND is not running a two minute offense here.

Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
                            Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.
