Well, they did show some life in the 2 minute drill. It's hard to understand how the team looks like shit for 13 minutes of clock time and then in 1:57 puts together a solid TD drive. I wonder if it has anything to do with beating NWU's defense with a nice run of short passing plays that (1) hit zones that NWU had been vacating to stop the run game (2) kept the offense on schedule. M's not going to run v NWU - that was a known. Why it took nearly 2 full quarters to figure out how NWU was deploying it's defenders and take advantage of that remains a mystery to me.
I can't give a lot props to Martindale and his defensive scheme. Sure, it looked good and the players executed and tackled well. OTH NWU's offense is terrible so mostly credit that for NWU being held to two FGs in the first half. Given M's equally terrible offense, this game is still loseable.
M 17-6 at the half.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

50-6 is the final. M is bowl eligible, and for me, the season is over. There's nothing to watch next weekend.
There will be a game in Columbus next week which will allow ohioans to take a peek to see if their manhood has returned, but there's really nothing for M fans to see. M will end at 6-6 in a season where last year's team was gutted by coaching departures, and player departures. Hope is on the horizon, and the next big event for Michigan will be spring practice ending in April. We'll see what's up with the newcomers.
I apologize to the M alums in here for my negativity. I know you love your school and team, and I wish I could be more positive. The Underwood era can't begin soon enough for me."The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, .. I'd worn them for weeks, and they needed the air"

The only thing shocking thing next week in ohio will be if the Cuyahoga River doesn't catch on fire again.
M will take their 6-6 record and play in Detroit. (hopefully, so I can go)
I've heard other bowl possibilities are the Pinstripe in NY, or the Music City bowl in Nashville.
Both too far away for me."The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, .. I'd worn them for weeks, and they needed the air"

50-6. That was the best Michigan has looked all season, albeit against a bad Northwestern team that might have been at its worst today. Bad luck for Jason Avant, who almost certainly will not get to interview any Michigan players after a game again after this one. There probably won't be much good to say after next week's game, but hey. Here's hoping.
