Not much to pick-on after M's drive (11/65/01:49) to end the first half with a TD throw, Warren to Loveland. M up 17-6. Also, an an exceptional and unexpectedly efficient 2nd half.
The big news was Davis Warren going 26-35, 195y, I INT, 1 TD, C% 74, QBR 124.8. 11 different receivers had catches. Easily Warren's best outing in his M career. In the 2nd half the run game returned to 2023 output. A lot of that had to do with the rhythm the offense got in to keeping the NWU D on the field till exhaustion.
On defense, Wink's scheme looked very good with the 1s in the first half. Later in the game, with the 2's & 3's in, too many 3rd and longs relinquished. Hard to point out why because camera coverage. But the D came up strong to shut down the three 2nd half drives beyond the 4, 3 and outs NWU had in the 2nd.
This is a confidence builder for M going into C-Bus next Saturday but that's a snake pit and M isn't strong enough IMO to eek out a win v. OSU. Predictions later.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

The 2nd half was probably the best half of football they've played all year. It was good to see Donovan Edwards get into the endzone in his final game at Michigan Stadium. Props to him and all the others continuing to play when they could have shut it down for the year. Some NFL team is going to get Edwards, and they'll be glad they did.
I wish these guys well. In spite of their team being gutted, they played hard all year and gave it everything they had. They were let down by other non-players, and that was beyond their control. I wish them well as they move on. Grant and Mason are two guys I'll never forget, and always will appreciate what they've done for Michigan Football.Last edited by lineygoblue; November 23, 2024, 09:35 PM.I don't always roll a joint, but when I do, its usually my ankle

Well, your running .500 (2-4) on your wild-ass predictions. You're in the rarefied air of coin flip odds being right. The debbie downers here better start listening to you.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. We needed this one pretty badly. Not just the win but the blowout. Up until this past weekend, we didn't really have a fun game to watch all year. Even most of our wins have been eyesores. It's nice to have at least one weekend per year where you can watch football and forget your troubles. Even RichRod''s '08 team had that shitkicking of the Goofers and all of Brady Hoke's teams had at least a couple of stress-free wins per year. This is the latest in the season that I can remember us ever having gone without one of those.
It was especially nice in the second half to finally see the team move the ball consistently for the first time all year.Last edited by Hannibal; November 25, 2024, 03:12 PM.
