  • Michigan Basketball, 2024/25 season

The Original Thread is buried somewhere but I couldn't find it. Yes, it's Cleveland state in the opener for Dust May but M bombed them 101, 53. Michigan's 68.4 percent shooting from the field fell just short of the program record of 69.2 percent (45-for-65) set against Alaska-Anchorage on Dec. 30, 1986.

The B-Ball team is good! This is a good thing for M sports with the football program in free fall.

Next up is Wake Forest Sunday 11/10/24 at 1pm. The game will be televised on ESPN2

Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

In addition, two starters were out nursing injuries. They'll be back shortly.

Coach May says this team goes at least 8 deep. To give an idea of how these guys play, Vlad Goldin didn't score a single point until almost midway in the 2nd half. He's considered the top guy on the team. Daniel Wolf, the Yale transfer had 19 points and 14 rebounds.

    ---

Also, the Women's team is ranked #5 in the country. They lost to S Carolina last night by 5 points in Vegas. Scarolina is the defending NC.

Maybe there will be some fun basketball games in AA this year.

Ain't nothing happening in football, that's for sure.

Coach May seems to be doing what he's been paid to do.

You see, that's the problem right there. Somehow all those female swimmers are blocking the way for a male offspring.

                          You are overloaded with estrogen.

Don't look now M basketball fans, but the unranked Michigan men's basketball team just defeated #22 ranked Xavier last night, 78-53, to win the Ft. Meyers Tipoff.

When Juwan Howard was fired, and several players left the team, the program was in total disarray. Warde Manuel made one good decision this year, and hired Dusty May. All he has done is handle the transfer portal as well as anyone I've ever seen, bringing in Vlad Goldin and Danny Wolf, and all of the sudden Will Tshetter isn't a scrub anymore. And just for emphasis, May just finished signing the #1 class in the Big Ten, and the #7 team in the country. Even the mighty Tom Izzo is looking up at Dusty May.

Things will get much tougher as the Big Ten season begins next week, (at Wisconsin) but the guys have had a really decent pre-season. They should be interesting to watch.
