  • Oregon 38 - Michigan 17

The Ducks opened as a 14.5 favorite over struggling Michigan. Oregon,by design, has an up-tempo, quick scoring offense. They rank 12 in total D and 40th in rush D. I didn't see the game but have read post game comments and analysis. M's offense looked improved but only marginally. MSU sold out to stop M's run game and were successful in doing that. Suspect Oregon may start out in a less deliberate run stopping D and see if they can induce a turnover early from Warren. Once they get the predictable two score lead, on the road, early, they'll just clamp down on M the rest of the way. M may be able to run v. Oregon's 40th ranked run defense and an M passing threat would help in that effort but with M's secondary ranked 86th in pass defense, Oregon will quickly respond through the air in response to an M score. This is where M's offense is just not designed, and never has been, to succeed in a shoot-out.

This isn't a good match-up for M. Opponents know how to neutralize M's pressures and with Wink calling some really bizarre blitzes, Oregon will feast throwing into uncovered parts of the field. M has little chance of winning this with Oregon at an 81% probability of beating M in the Big House.

    Oregon 42, Michigan 24.

Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

M will not be scared to play #1 Oregon and probably has more 2025 1st and 2nd RD players on their team. Playing in Ann Arbor is much better than playing at Oregon. That’s where my optimism ends with the game. It would take a ton of breaks to go their way if they pull out the upset. Such as winning the turnover margin +3. Wink calling his best game of the season that would be reminiscent of the Wink 2022 NY Giants. The M offense needing to continue to get better as Davis Warren rebounds from the benching. Will Johnson playing and locking down one side of the field.

M is out of playoff contention, but a win vs #1 would feel great. Something to make the program feel better heading into the future with Moore. I just don’t see it happening due to their performance in most games this season.

I think this game will likely be decided by halftime. Oregon will be ahead far enough to leave no doubt as to whom is going to win. The only question will be how many points does the Oregon coaching staff need to prove their superiority? Will they be satisfied with enough points to win, or are they coming to hang a blowout on M?

I think its somewhere in the middle.

And if I'm accused of sandbagging on this, please provide an explanation.

M's defense 'might' be competent enough to hold the Ducks under 40, otherwise I agree. I see something more like 37-17.

This game is Michigan's last chance to beat a top-ranked opponent, because they won't do it on the road against Indiana nor OSU. I think they keep it surprisingy close until the end of the 3rd when the Ducks finally pull away. I'll say Oregon 31, M 21. But I won't be surprised is they somehow pull out a "shocking" victory. They have nothing to lose and this is the last home game that means anything.
