Come on, Jeff- you'll be right here with the rest of us. It'll be a train wreck, for sure. But, admit it or not, we like watching train wrecks.
Michigan's offense is putrid and and the coaching is abysmal. We just might have hired our Bobby Williams.
I can understand the offensive ineptitude and QB situation. That’s roster management/recruiting. But the lack of discipline and smart football is a stark contrast from the Harbaugh era. It’s a night and day difference.
Prediction: I'm having a difficult time finding another win for Michigan this season, outside of maybe NW and/or MSU.
That gets them to six wins, and maybe a Ford Field appearance against a solid MAC team.
These guys better decide what they are, including the coaching staff, and they don't have a lot of time to do it.
The only country not heard from is Jack Tuttle. If he can manage to escape from where-ever he's being stashed away at, and come help the team, then there may be a way to get to about 7-8 wins. Barring that, this team is in danger of not qualifying for a bowl game.
Anyone close to my age can remember back into about the 80's when we had Demetrius Brown and Michael Taylor 'slugging' it out to be M's QB. They were horrible, but not nearly as bad as Orji. Schembechler did everything to dummy down the offense so that these guys could run it. Somehow, Bo got that team to a bowl game. That was Bo Schembechler. As much as I like Sherrone Moore, he's no Bo Schembechler. As Mike noted, at least those teams had discipline and pride.
This group today, .. I have no idea what they are. There are decent remnants of a Championship team, but then there are guys who wear a uniform. There are 2 quarterbacks who seem incapable of learning and improving. WHY are they playing for Michigan? Who vetted these guys? We've seen NO improvement at the QB position since the beginning of the season. No wonder it took so long to pick one.
And Moore's mantra has been "smash". Well, the only smashing going on is the crushing of ice as these guys fill their fruity drinks in the locker room following the game. They're freaking pansies. Rapidly retreating to the days of Rich Rod and Brady Hoke when the likes of Yukon and Toledo routinely pushed them around.
What do we think OSU is going to do in November? That "hundo" that Day wants may be a reality this year. He's not lifting his foot off the gas, no matter what.
Wouldn't that be something. Not make the playoffs after winning the national championship. Shows the contempt they have for the fans of this team after doing nothing to improve it . Just sitting on their laurels I guess is a kick in the keister.
"Get a good look at this, its the last win you're seeing for a while"
Note: Look at the crowd and field. Usually a LBJ celebration is happy, fans crowded around, everyone enjoying the moment. Now, its one single player, none of his team mates around, carrying the Jug. Nobody cares. This is Michigan Football in 2024.

Right. That's another thing that jumps out is the lack of enthusiasm and leadership.
Keep Brady Hart committed at all costs. David Portnoy and his comments about NIL… this is it… and maybe a transfer portal guy. K-State’s starting QB would be nice.
…
All I know about the 80s when it comes to Michigan football is continuously seeing M vs Notre Dame on ESPN Classic with Rocket Esmail doing crazy stuff.
This 2024 QB situation is certainly reminiscent of 2008 and 2017. Perhaps much worse unless Jack Tuttle can return. Though if Orji keeps improving week after week… maybe there’s hope. It’s a fact that he was better vs Minnesota when compared to vs USC (not saying much).. If I had to rate Orji out of 10, he went from 2/10 to 3/10. Woohoo!
That won't get it done in Seattle. Jed Fisch may still have a bit of a soft heart for Michigan, so once he gets his points, he's likely to 'call off the dogs' .. pun intended. But this isn't going to be pretty. And the following week in Champaign is going to be ugly as well. Meathead Bert wants to beat Michigan in the worst way.
Then there's State.
I dunno. Maybe the best thing for these guys is to get on the road. We're likely to find out who the players are, and who the pretenders are on this team.
A.lot of key players injured explains some of the trash seen on both sides of the ball v. Minnesota. Hinton's absence in the second half along with musical chairs at C didn't help an already badly struggling Alex Orji. He already isn't seeing the field. Under the pressures Fleck dialed up, Orgi bailed way too often. There was rarely a pocket to step up to as the Cs were getting pushed back mercilessly. The result was receivers breaking open that Orji didn't see under duress.
Wink was missing at least 4 starters for parts of the game. The lack of pressures on Brosmere gave him time in the pocket in the 2nd half with alarming effect. All Wink could do was plug leaks and the D looked abysmal because of it.
There still were a plethora of bad and/or head scratching calls from coaches that contributed to M's 2nd half collapse and near loss. But make no mistake, injuries played their part in this ugly win.

Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
As expected, chicken little's woe as me are out in full force, You don't need a weatherman to tell which way a wimp blows
Exactly. I don't know how anyone could watch Michigan roll Minnesota for 247 yards of offense and hang on for dear life and not come away completely impressed with this well-oiled machine. Bunch of pussies.
You can read mgo's UFR Offense and weep on your own. Not going to summarize it. My read is this might be the worst offense M has had in decades. Players (other than Mullings) are just guys and they are horribly deployed in plays that are reminiscent of Al Borges but worse. They make no sense - a lot like we saw with Borges.
This bad offense goes right along with a less than stellar defense run by a highly qualified DC who is still figuring out how to run a defense with college guys.
It would be a miracle if M went into Husky Stadium and pulled out a win. My early prediction was Washington 24-20. After reading the UFR Offense, if M even sniffs getting to 20, I'll be shocked.
