    AA sandbagged his sandbagging.

I was just reviewing osu's schedule. They don't play anyone with a pulse until mid October. Maybe that is why Talent is leaving the heavy duty sandbagging to AA. Even he can't bring himself to rave about the dangers of playing the mighty Western Michigan Broncos...

      I'm sticking with

      T - 37
M- 17 (late score makes it look closer)

I'm fine with Michigan losing this one. It has to end some time, and the last 3 years of Michigan football have been the best three year stretch of my lifetime.

I'd rather see them lose in an evenly matched showdown against another great team. This is not an evenly matched game.

I'll be at my son's house celebrating my grandson's birthday. With the TV off.

        I agree with liney.

I'll be at my daughter's house babysitting my two year old grandson. His parents will be at the game.

Can't be rooting any harder for this guy. Great story, these are just snippets.

Who is Davis Warren? Michigan’s new QB has a story bigger than Texas

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Consider the quarterbacks who hold the College Football Playoff hopes of Michigan and Texas in their hands.

Texas has Quinn Ewers, the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2021 and a potential first-round NFL Draft pick. Behind Ewers is Arch Manning of the First Family of Quarterbacks, the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2023 and possibly the most famous backup in football.

Then there’s Michigan’s Davis Warren, a former walk-on who had zero recruiting stars and no film to speak of as a high school prospect. Warren appeared in four games as a high school junior in 2019 and eight games as a backup at Michigan before he was picked to start the Wolverines’ season opener against Fresno State.

          He’s also a cancer survivor.
Other quarterbacks have more fanfare, but nobody has a story like Warren’s.

Warren came home from a workout one morning in spring 2019 and told his father he was feeling sick. He’d recently had his wisdom teeth removed, and his parents thought he might have an infection.

They went to an urgent care facility, where the doctor had Warren take off his shirt, examined his swollen lymph nodes and tested his white blood cell count. Pack a bag, the doctor told them. You need to go to the hospital.

Sometime after 1 a.m., doctors told Warren he had leukemia. They didn’t know which kind, but Warren was eventually diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, which has a five-year survival rate of 66 percent for adolescents 19 and younger.
As Michigan fans learned his story, Warren began hearing from people. A grandfather on LinkedIn whose grandson was going through leukemia treatments. Parents with kids at Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor. Warren realized he was in a unique position to help those people, and it would be a shame not to make the most of it.

“I’ve been through it,” Warren said. “I have the scar on my arm. I know how to press the silence button on the medicine pole that everyone gets. That’s a really special connection.”
Warren, a former walk-on and cancer survivor who barely played high school football, will start at QB for No. 10 Michigan vs. No. 3 Texas.

I read about his story a couple of weeks ago. He's a fighter, and respect what he's done. I'm just not sold on his ability to QB this team at a high level.

If you're following the analysts evaluating this game, WInk Martindale's defense is generating a heap of concern. There's a long standing (since his hiring) that he's Don Brown v.2.0 or - "he blitzes too often and too often unnecessarily." Fst's lone TD came off a blitz that in the UFR Defense was noted to be an unnecessary bad call.

No one is defending him at this point early in the season with comments like, "he's exactly like we were worried he would be." There is also a let's wait and see attitude among those complaining about Wink's style. But Texas is looming.

The numbers paint a bad picture for Martindale's in game calls (M is running the same defensive scheme they've run since 2021). Minter's approach was to threaten blitzes than the LB and Ss would drop back. Wink rushed four, 16 times (he never rushed three), versus 17 blitzes of five or more. Sacks included:
              • 4 rushers: 7/13 for 2.9 ypa, 3 sacks
              • 5+ rushers: 8/16 for 7.8 ypa, 1 TD, 2 INT, 1 sack
Uhhh, WTF. The UFR Defense is highly critical of how M's defense approached the game v Fst. Keene has a time to throw of 2.47 seconds and throws short of the sticks 58% of the time. You're taking a huge risk to get hurries and sacks by adding a 5th rusher that is unlikely to get to Keene. It didn't often enough to merit the high volume of blitzing with 5.

Seth's UFR Defense is incredibly thorough and interminably long. I mostly like his stuff but I skimmed through a lot of it looking for meat - and there was plenty of that. Too much blitzing, Wink. Sark is going to leverage that into big plays unless your Amoeba defense looks more like Minter's and less like Don Brown's when it goes up against Texas.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

The weather probably helps Michigan at least. Forecast of 55 degrees at kickoff with 30 mph wind gusts and possible showers. Right up Jeff's alley!

I'll be in the Bahamas ...... the wx definitely helps M but only if Texas has trouble stopping the run. If M consistently gets to third and short, strings long drives together and cashes in, they can win this thing. The corollary to that is insuring Ewers can't make the big play/run up gaudy passing numbers. Of course, the wx helps tamp that likelihood down.

Sark's offense is pass-centric per several videos I've watched with analysts looking at this game. Having the 12th defender (Mr. WX) negatively affecting that part of the Longhorn's game is a plus. One thing I heard consistently from all the previews of this game was that Texas has to establish the run game and will be in trouble in the Big House if they can't.

Another key derived predominantly from mgo guys is concern that Wink will go blitzarama. I couldn't find a time to pass number like I saw with Fst's Keene but rushing 5 against him took a potential defender on crossing routes out of the picture. I suspect Ewers gets the ball out of his hands in 2.5 - 2.75 seconds. It would be a waste of a blitz that features 5 rushers if it takes more than that kind of time to get hurries or sacks.

Changing my prediction based on inclement weather and M stuffing the Longhorn ground game: M 19 - Texas 17.

I'll take it. The weather will also hurt our 55 yard FG base offense.

Michigan will be sporting the blue pants tomorrow. I love them with the white jerseys but very "meh" with the home jersey, IMO. They are the "big game" uniform it seems.

Stay classy, coach. You're there to provide impartial commentary about the game.

And it doesn't even involve ohio state.

Once again, you failed while working in a very important position.

You'd also be well served to stay away from the young girls.
