Yes, you read that correctly. This contest is under the lights in prime time. Lots of the schedule remains TBD as far as broadcasters are concerned. But through the Arkansas State game, a home game, on September 14th, broadcasters and times are known and this is the only night game.

Reportedly, Arkansas State is good at football and cannot be taken lightly. I don't think the coaches or players will treat this game as a tomato can match-up. Fall camp just started and Sherrone has been tight-lipped regarding who will start at QB. Likely candidates are Tuttle and Orji, 2 very different QB styles. I never like rotating QBs in games but doing that presents a change in pace offense that opposing coaches have to prepare for. I've got no skin in the game. I don't care who starts. I like Tuttle's experience. I like Orji's athleticism and innate ability to make defenses account for him running the ball. That's something Tuttle can do but he doesn't present the same run threat that Orji does. There are too many good resources on line that do a good job of breaking down this contest. The link below is good enough until I find something better or want to do it myself.

But thank God football is just around the corner and we can talk about it instead of the giant turd hurtling our way in the form of November's presidential election. I'll be in Ann Arbor for the USC and Minnesota games but will be traveling on several Saturdays during M's '24 season campaign to the CFP and will miss some games - a first for me. M should at least be good enough to be in the top 12 but unless one of the two likely QBs excels in the passing game, they're not going to take the conference crown or make the final 4.

Will Fresno State be an early test for Michigan in their first game of 2024? Watch the video to find out and be sure to give this video a like! Discord: http...

Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

For 2024, I don't think its a stretch to say that Michigan should finish solidly in the top 3rd of the conference. But 2024 could be anything from another shocking run at a NC, to another crap sandwich like any (take your pick) John O'Korn year. My gut feeling is that M will finish about 3rd in the conference behind Oregon and OSU. I wouldn't be shocked to see Michigan defeat one of those two, (most likely Oregon) but still finish 3rd. Will 3rd in the Big Ten be enough for a playoff berth? I think that it will be a bubble situation if we're 3rd. A lot will depend on how M looks against osu. Beat them, and I think we're solidly in the playoffs. Lose, and its probably going to depend on how badly we lost. If we lose a squeeker, then maybe we edge into a playoff spot. Get ripped, and we're definitely out, and headed to a NYD bowl. I won't be disappointed in a NYD bowl berth. Anything less than that will be a disappointment. Especially with the studs we have coming back on defense. Any team with a solid defense is a threat in today's CFB. Michigan will have that.

As far as Game One with Fresno State, I think the Bulldogs will be hyped up to play, but they're going to have a hard time against the M defense. They're going to have to hope that M makes a lot of mistakes on offense and special teams to have a shot. We all know this is possible, but probably not likely. Night game, at the Big House, with players itching to go, and I think it adds up to a fairly comfortable Michigan win. The following week will tell us more about where this team really is. The 'Horns will be tough.

Bon Voyage, Jeff. Safe travels, and have fun.

Thanks for that post. Isn't it great were talking about football with M on a campaign to repeat as NC? RFD may be OSUs Jonn Cooper 2.0. Wouldn't that be nice. Lots of similarities in the Bo, Moeler transition to the Harbaugh-Moore transition.... minus, I hope, a restaurant brawl.

Interested to read any rumors about the QB1 battle over the next few weeks. Safe bet might be Jack Tuttle given his longevity. Envisioning a Cade McNamara/ Jake Rudock hybrid. I hope Orji wins it though by showing growth when it comes to decision making and accuracy. The highest upside choice that could give us hope of a repeat due to Orji’s talent level. Davis Warren a total wildcard too. But shit, I would be down for Warren to be reminiscent of Baker Mayfield or Stetson Bennett’s career trajectory.

All of that is drinking the kool-aid and positive talk. QB might disappoint for M. Who knows. I am excited to see M’s DTs dominate this season. Also, Will Johnson. No brainer elite there.

Michigan announced today that Jim Harbaugh will be the honorary captain for this opening game. An interesting swipe at the NCAA and Tony Petiti of the B10 that will surely raise eyebrows among those people involved in the recent Show Cause handed out by the NCAA.

I can't think of a more apt response to the silly nonsense that is being dished out by the NCAA.

The only additional action should be for the marching band to form a giant middle finger during the pregame ceremony. "Hey NCAA ... for all you do, .. this is for you!!"

I don't care what they do with the charges. Harbaugh and most of the affected people are gone.

                          Its a nothing "burget"
