I don't think either team gained a game changing advantage from the officiating.

They missed calls on both sides, and I saw one make-up call in Washington's favor, but other than that, it was a decently called game.

The crew's mechanics looked good, they got the spots right for the most part, and they were hustling throughout the game. I didn't see any lazy officiating, and there were no game killing reviews taking multiple minutes, and I didn't see anything that I'd consider micro-officiating. They let both teams play the game.

If I were rating the crew on a 1-5 scale with 5 being the absolute best, I'd give last night's crew about a 4.1

I have no idea what college officials get paid for a Natty game now. If I had to guess, I'd imagine its probably about $5G's per man, and all expenses paid.

I would never want anything to do with a game like that. Never, ever. Even if I were a good official.

I worked the chain crew for six years, a total of 12 state final games at Ford Field when I was still officiating. No pay, it was an honorary thing. I had a blast.
