Mike's numbers just demonstrate what is, on paper, huge Michigan advantages. I don't think the M players or coaches will repeat another TCU catastrophe. Lessons learned.

Brian's recap of M's win over UAT describes some of the wrinkles that both Minter and Moore incorporated in their game plan/plays that amounted to counters to some of Michigan's most repeated play calls that were obviously on film and studied by the Alabama coaches and players. I doubt that that bag of plays will be run again and these two great coaches will come up with plenty of stuff to fool the Huskies. The important part of this is this isn't about wholesale changes to the game plans. It's about putting the wrinkles in for high leverage/critical stage of the game plays. The 2 Corum flares to the flat, one for a TD another for a big 1st down ae examples of the unexpected. Those are plays that Edwards came in to run. So, on both of these, you can see the Alabama defense key on Edwards in the backfield. Meanwhile Corum delays a split second as if to block and takes off into the flat to catch the ball from JJ.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

Gameplan: Don't hand your opponent 28 points. Win game.

Posess the ball on long, time consuming touchdown scoring drives. The best defense against Penix (as it was against CJ Stroud) is keep him off the field. #2 is when he is on the field, keep him under constant pressure, and play press coverage against their WR's. Penix likes to hold the ball and look for big plays. He's not a three-step-drop-and-throw guy. But remember he's very effective throwing the ball when moving.

I have much respect for Washington. They're not in the Championship game by accident or fluke. They're a doggone good football team. Treat them as such.

My sandbagging days are over for this season.

I have a lot of respect for Washington. Ever since they beat Oregon the first time, I felt that they were a dangerous team, capable of winning the NC. Then they did it again. Oregon was no cupcake. Neither was Texas.

Michigan can win this game, and probably should, .. but they'll need an effort along the lines of the 2021 OSU game to get the win. Too bad we can't borrow Hutch on Monday.

8 of Washington's lasts 10 games have been decided by one score going all the way back to September 30. The two outliers were 43-33 against Stanford (3-9) and 52-42 over USC (7-5).

The Arizona game wasn't as close as the score but the others were every bit of the struggle is looks like. Stanford was within 35-33 midway through the 4th and put up 495 yards of offense. USC ran for over 200 yards and threw for over 300. Oregon turned that trick as well. Washington St. went 5-7 and outgained UW 381-306.

I see a team that's been flirting with disaster all year and they just might find it Monday night.

Salty B10 Coaches doesn't think Michigan is battle-tested lol (who shall not be named) and said Bama would mop the floor with Michigan to Bruce Feldman of the Athletic, still sticking to the hopes. Bielema or Schiano is here for sure, maybe Walters - not sure if Softy Ryan Day and Franklin were in a talkative mood after getting embarrassed in their Bowl games.

Sounds like a lot of these guys have too much time on their hands this week- probably because, well, they do.

These are the same guys that insisted that Tony Titties suspend Harbaugh.

Their opinions don't count worth a squat.

On the other hand, our 2002 team played a bunch of games like those. Well, more like 13-7 or 14-9

My personal preference would be that if you're winning games like that, you don't have to rely on your QB going video game mode. You rely on your defense and run game. This game looks like a classic case of razzle-dazzle meets brick wall.

On the NFL side, I'm a Dolphins fan so I know all too well what a flashy passing game paired with a mediocre defense looks like when the rubber meets the road.
