Best team doesn't always end up #1. Life is unfair. In 1997 the best team (UNL) had to settle for a split. In 1983 best team lost by a point on the home field of a bowl opponent. 1982 Penn State robbed UNL. Shit happens.

That will fit nicely on a t-shirt.

Right. All that matters in the end is winning the title.

No better example than the 2007 undefeated Patriots losing to the Giants. It happens across all major sports every year.

Not arguing that. But you guys caught a break getting Bama not UGA...

We're not the 2007 NY Giants of CFB. Michigan is the legit #1 team in the country and if they win Monday to go 15-0 while beating OSU, Alabama (SEC champ), and Washington (PAC-12 champ) in their last 4 games that solidifies their standing. Georgia fucked around and lost a game. Michigan didn't.

Maybe Georgia caught the break. They still end up with 1 loss but with a 60 point Orange Bowl victory.

Never said you were the 07 Giants. But had you played UGA Vegas would have had you as an underdog.

Good thing Vegas doesn’t crown a champion.

The transitive property of sports supports M > Georgia
But hey, that’s what happens in sports. Georgia lost to Bama and they miss out on a title this season.

                    Didn't say M couldn't win...but you would be a 7-8 point dog.

Careful. You're trying to make the same argument that I've tried to make here for years now. Been laughed outta here many times trying to make that point.

That being said, Georgia has no excuses for losing to Bama. They essentially had a home game and they were the better team. But (attempting to make MY argument again) the best team doesn't always win. I'd have no problem with Michigan playing Georgia on Monday. I think that game would be a tossup. But that's just me.

But, this is what the CFP has put in front of us. The Washington Huskies. A strong team with a great QB and some NFL caliber receivers. Lets play the game.

LOL @ 'the best team lost in '97'.

OH how I wish that game would have been played.

Scott Frost throwing into M's defensive backfield with C. Woodson and Ty Law?

                        good grief....

Truth be told about 1997, if there was a 4 team playoff, Florida State wins the damn thing.
