You got that right. I haven't even read up on matchups or any of that stuff. I've watched a good 6-7 Iowa games this year and it's just awful awful stuff. I'm not kidding when I say we could play our entire 2nd string offense and defense and win the game. The only point of interest is if Iowa will score or not which Vegas has at even money.

Agree about the 2nd string defense. 2nd string offense -- not as much. This game could get uncomfortable if Iowa gets a defensive TD against us. Overall, I think that they still net out to "good".Comment

Their D is good but you have to factor in that they're playing against Big Ten West "offenses". Their non-con schedule was Utah State, Iowa State and Western Michigan. The only team they played with a pulse was PSU who beat them 31-0 and ran for 215 yards, albeit on 57 attempts. PSU possesed the ball for 45:27!

Harbaugh is on the sidelines and won't allow a letdown. Otherwise I'd be concerned about this game being taken for granted. The thing I hate more than anything is when players start to believe the press clippings of how bad their opponent is. And, boy do they have some data to maul over.
Another thing is Iowa's coach isn't much for surprises. Don't expect them coming out in a wishbone or something. Lol.Comment

I feel comfortable about this game. It’s not a shot at Iowa… simply the reality of the B1G West. Iowa can destroy M in women’s basketball led by the fantastic Caitlin Clark. M can destroy Iowa in football. It evens out and Iowa sports fans shouldn’t feel shame about the situation.

This CCG out of the 4 that count pits the best team in the nation against pretty near the worst. I'd argue that on the whole, Iowa may be the worst team on M's 2023 schedule and that includes the non-cons. I'm pretty sure if I wanted to take the time and compute scores using S&P+ numbers, Iowa would lose v. 3 of 4 M's non-con opponents and every B10 East foe M faced. That's how bad this mismatch is by the numbers. But, yeah, it's Iowa and M has a thing with them. Keep in mind, M has had a lot of "things" plain ol' drop out as legit concerns in the last 3 years. Team 144 is a leading NC candidate and there is no way in hell they are going to lose to Iowa.
Sure, it's football and shit happens but jeeze, things would have to go so badly and completely against trend lines for M to lose that I'd call it near impossible or slightly more than non-zero, like .01.
Am I cocky? Yes but it's warranted and for sure, I don't think the players or coaches will be as cocky as I am and dismiss team Iowa. Not buying it, they hate Michigan and need to keep the narrative going. Don't know this McAfee clown or where he came from - don't care. I stopped watching any espn show (unless it's the only game on) a few years ago.
