Texas beat Bama so they should get a nod there...but we would be looking at chaos if bama beats UGA...

I think this will be the field:

        Georgia
        Michigan
        FSU
        Oregon.

Not sure how they'll seed FSU/Oregon but he above would be a dream scenario. If Bama wins, things get crazy. A 12-1 SEC champ should be in but then how do you give them the nod over Texas? Then do they drop Georgia all together? It would be insanity. They'd have to kick an undefeated FSU to the curb and then you'd still have only 2 spots for UGA/Bama/Texas.
Too bad Auburn lost. If Bama had two losses going into the SECCG and then beat GA there would be a real possibility that the SEC would get shut out.

I think in that case, Georgia would still get in but the SEC champ wouldn’t.

The Petras led Iowa offense that M saw in 2021 averaged 303.7 yards per game and 23.4 points per game. This 2023 Iowa offense ranks dead last in college football. Averages 247.3 yards per game and 18.0 points per game.

Wow, so eye test and all of the memes about Brian Ferentz were correct. The issue for Iowa is going to be consistently going 3 & out. That should eventually snowball into trouble for Iowa. While their punter and special teams are still great, it won’t be enough to make a difference.

Just need to avoid a -5 turnover margin game, M. That’s all.

Iowa shouldn't score 10+ and that awful offense will put their defense into short fields. Even if the defense plays great (I've the game lower scoring than most), that offense will be really tough to overcome. 30 - 7 type game but Iowa might get a safety in there to cover the spread; 30-9.

Yeah, don't be too negative on turnovers and this is a pretty safe game if the defense does it's job.

I don’t think it will be that drastic of a score, but again… the game should be a cruise control-type win. Always possible that M could turn the ball over 1 or 2 times. Give Iowa a couple gimmes. M 2nd and 3rd team defense has given up nearly half of the points this season in garbage time to inferior opponents.

Penn State, Ohio State, and M all have comparable defenses in the B1G. Iowa with McNamara was held to 76 total yards, 4 1st downs, and 0 points vs Penn State.

The other big factor is Iowa stud CB/ S/ NB/ punt returner Cooper DeJean is out with an injury. DeJean will likely be a mid to late 1st RD pick in the upcoming draft and was Iowa’s best player. He was involved in Iowa’s most controversial play this season:

No one on the Gopher special teams thought DeJean was signaling a fair catch. He was telling his team mates to stay away from the bouncing football. After he grabbed it he did not go out of bounds during the return. Iowa was robbed.

Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

It wasn't even flagged? It was called by the replay booth that reviews every score?

That was one of the silliest calls of the last decade. Nobody thought the Iowa player was making any sort of fair catch or 'fake' fair catch signal.

Fleck knew he got away with one on that call.

Kirk Ferentz and his take on the "signs scandal"

“If you want a bigger picture view, this is something that probably could be corrected really easily,” he said. How? By voting to implement helmet technology that allows for direct, private communication between a coach and his players.

Ferentz said it’s been discussed for about 10 years and would be a “simple way to fix” any issues related to sign stealing.

“It’s like a lot of things that happen with the NCAA and college football -- we’re a really slow-moving train when it comes to being progressive, trying to improve things, improve the quality of the game,” he said.

Perhaps it will be addressed this offseason, Ferentz hoped. This week at least, Ferentz will have his hands full with Michigan preparation. He won’t be devoting any time to Michigan’s scandal.

“Between now and Saturday that’s hardly a concern of mine,” he said. “One of these days maybe we’ll take the steps needed to take this off the board.”
