Oh yeah it is, wow that was fast!! I guess FOX doesn't want people seeing Urban Meyer angry after the game-winning int on the sideline.

Charles Woodson is biased towards M. Urban Meyer is biased towards OSU. It is what it is. I actually thought Meyer summed up the game accurately during the postgame show.
…
Re-watching that incredible TD pass from JJ McCarthy to Roman Wilson… we’re very lucky that #25 Cedric Hawkins turned his back to JJ at the right time IMO. Otherwise, he might have had an opportunity to pick that off. Freeze the video below at 0:32.
Oh, and ESPN Deportes broadcast >>> Klatt/ Gus.
EDIT: Eh, maybe the throw is a perfect pass from JJ. Hard to say if #25 Hawkins had an opportunity to make a play on it.Last edited by Cody_Russell; November 25, 2023, 11:05 PM.AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill

I'll never like Urban Meyer. He's a phony. He can coach college football, but that's about all that can be said about him.
When it comes to commentators with osu connections, Kirk Herbstreit is probably the most balanced. The rest of them couldn't shake their Michigan biases if their lives depended on it."in order to lead America you must love America"

Two plays pretty much decided the game, both interceptions by McCord.
The first interception led to the winning margin
The last interception sealed the outcome.
Other than that, the game was fairly even.
McCord's INT's were bad, but he's not totally to blame for the loss. The guy on the sideline, making the big bucks and wearing the headset is more to blame than McCord."in order to lead America you must love America"

The 1st was bad.
M really didn't make any mistakes of significance. They dominated the kicking game. They were +2 in turnovers. They converted 3rd downs and made some ridiculous plays. The throw and catch on their last drive when McCarthy threw back across his body and the WR made a ridiculous catch -- that's difference between 3rd and 8 and 3rd and 1. And even the TD to Roman Wilson -- had to be inch perfect and that was 3rd and 10 -- a 4 point play.
Even the two bad penalties they had didn't really cost them -- it wasn't like they were on 3rd down. It was extra yards, but Ohio State was moving the ball.
In a game like that it's 1 or 2 plays. Giving M a 4 play 6 yard TD drive was decisive. Even at the end of the 1H, McCord missed a wide open Traynum that would have been good for at least 10-12 down inside the 30 and then OSU has 40 seconds to try to score. All those little plays (Egbuka dropping a catch on 3rd down on the first drive). When the teams are even, that's what decides it.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

They converted 3rd downs
Like you said, a few plays made or botched in this game was the difference - like it usually is with two evenly matched teams. I thought OSU moved the ball better than M did but JJ played error free and made clutch plays and McCord did neither. I think we both thought the game would come down to the QBs. JJ was 12/17, 81% ) INTs, McCord was 18/30, 60% 2 INTs. I question the value of this metric but talking heads noted that the winner of The Game, historically, rushes for more yards than the loser. M rushed for 163 yards, OSU 110. So, OK
It was a great game and it came down to the last play of the game with seconds left when McCord, managing a winning drive but under pressure from M's D, sealed the win for M by throwing his second INT to Rod Moore (an Ohio native)Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

It was the resiliency, grit and determination of the kids more than anything else. They had something to prove and would not be denied. I also give a lot of credit to the coaches and Moore in particular. I don't always agree with his play calling but he and the other coaches had them ready to play this game.

110,000 people in the stadium were expecting Harrison JR to steal the game,
Maybe if they had Stroud or Fields, they would have pulled it off. But if they had either one of those guys, they probably wouldn't have needed a last second score."in order to lead America you must love America"

Like Moore put the game on JJ's shoulders - he reportedly told JJ pre-game that when it mattered, I'm going to put the ball in your hands to make plays - Day put the ball in McCord's hands. JJ made plays, McCord didn't. Difference in the game right there.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. As suggested in this post (https://www.detroitlionsforum.com/fo...66#post1880566), I was nervous about that scenario at the time too.
More so had to due with respect to Marvin Harrison Jr. and having watched that OSU vs ND game live from 2 months ago. It seemed fair to think OSU could pull it off once again. OSU had 1st & 10 at the M 37 with :32 left in the game. It was getting close, but luckily M forced pressure on McCord. Led to a poor throw and an amazing INT by Rod Moore.Last edited by Cody_Russell; November 26, 2023, 11:41 AM.AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill

Moore also said that he intended to be aggressive in his play calling. And that wasn't suggested by Harbaugh, that was Moore acting on his own.
I was concerned about Moore's playcalling going into the game, but he came thru it well.
And the stadium's reaction when Rod Moore got that final INT. The roar could probably be heard in Dundee."in order to lead America you must love America"
