  • Well yea, but that will be a rematch - not the same - and it could be years from now

    • Wow, just wow.

This is a huge exclamation mark on the end of an era of The Game. Michigan in charge and in control of OSU. IMO, a bigger win than Bo's win in '69 that has been recognized for years as one if not the number one win for Michigan. The guy, Ryan Day, that may or may not been behind trying to out Michigan as illegally decoding signs is 1-3 against M, 1-3 in the CFP, and 54-1 in other games. If CRD is not John Cooper II I don't know who is.

There was chatter before the game from Feldman suggesting Texas A&M Aggies (who just fired Jimbo Fisher) Ohio State head coach Ryan Day “might be open to their pitch” Feldman adding, if the Buckeyes lose to the Wolverines for the third-straight year, he could be gone. UFM said, not going to happen. But, it demonstrates that the media's click bate stories are going to have more to say about CRD's future than signgate. A fitting end to that story.

I mentioned that the winner of this game would control the narrative for the rest of this season's Michigan football. It's going to require some PR work by M to have their trusted media sources push the stupid sign decoding scandal and the stupid hamburgergate onto the back page if not eliminated. It would be nice if M would get the media to point out how the B10 conference, pushed into action by a faux angry mob of B10 members committed to tar and feather Jim Harbaugh and derail M's march to an NC. Unfortunately, that kind of PR work is not in M's wheelhouse. I can wish for it to happen.

Michigan has established what kind of football team it is. McCarthy wasn't a featured star, Corum wasn't a featured star, this was a group of brothers stepping up to make plays. Injuries? Next man up. Every football fan talks about that, this was a complete team making plays and winning doing it. Another important note emphasized by Jon Jansen was the calm measured, well practiced control on M's sideline. Coaches looked like they knew the plan and executed it.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

Things change. Are you going to enjoy it less next year if both teams are locked in to teh CFP?
2012 Detroit Lions Draft: 1) Cordy Glenn G , 2) Brandon Taylor S, 3) Sean Spence olb, 4) Joe Adams WR/KR, 5) Matt McCants OT, 7a) B.J. Coleman QB 7b) Kewshan Martin WR

M vs OSU rematch will feel very weird when it happens for the first time. B1G division and championship game rules changing. Plus the 12 team playoff format. It’s bound to happen in the near future.

Regular season will never feel the same again. We need to soak this win in and truly appreciate it.

          • I didn't watch the game, .. I'm watching it on my Direct TV Cloud recording right now.

Until I'm finished, my only thought is this at the moment:

EAT S#!T PAUL FINEBAUM!!!!!!!!! He ripped Michigan. He ripped Harbaugh, of course. If Harbaugh wasn't in CFB, Finebaum would have no career. But then, he ripped on Michigan's fans. He didn't single anyone out, or put M's fans in categories. He insulted little kids who wear Michigan garb. Senior citizens, honored alumni,.. great people who have done great things after attending U-M. He insulted my son, who is a proud M Alumni. So FU Paul Finebaum. Go kiss Nicks ass some more, ..which is what you are best at.

            I repeat Jeff's "wow.. just wow" ...

            • I wouldn't write off Ohio State's chances of getting in the playoff just yet. Florida State's going to have a tough time getting past both Florida and Louisville without Jordan Travis. Washington's been in a lot of close games, and might be in another one today. Alabama still has to get by Auburn and then beat Georgia to get in the mix. This hasn't been an upset-filled college football season to this point, but there might still be a sting in the tail, so to speak.

              • I can't see 2 B10 teams getting in to the CFP. An 11-1 OSU is going to take a back seat to any 11-1 SEC team. The B10 conference is trash. The SEC has some very good teams.

It’s certainly possible, but unlikely for Ohio State.
Ohio State needed USC and LSU to lose as they made the 2022 CFP. This time around, Ohio State will need Florida State, Texas, and Alabama to all lose.

I’m thinking M will meet the PAC12 champ in Oregon or Washington. Hypothetically a much tougher matchup than 2022 TCU. NOT as spooky as 2021 Georgia though.

                        This times 100.

I told my son who was at the game, I know how the Buckeyes must feel; went through it for a decade +. His response was no, this is way worse for Buckeye fans. The stakes in this game were much higher than any The Game in the past and far outweigh any tribulations M fans suffered with loses while the program was in the dumpster and loosing 8 straight to M's hated rival, OSU. .

Ahh...this gives me great comfort. My closest friend is an OSU fan and it was his firm belief that the only reason we beat them the last two years was because we cheated. We always discuss the game on Monday or Tuesday the week following. Next week I will patiently wait for his call. Life is good.

I think JJ was still just a bit gimpy from the ankle injury he got vs. Penn State. They really didn't have any designed runs for him, and that should have been part of the gameplan if he was 100%. You notice they put in Orgie for a designed QB run.

                            • Yeah, I didn't think J.J. looked 100% either. Good enough, of course, but I hope he gets a bit healthier this week.

                              • UM looks to be 22 point favorites vs. Iowa. Have to get emotionally stable quickly. Iowa has superior defense and special teams. Lousy offense.
