When you look at the team stats the teams are very close offensively and defensively. The outcome will largely be determined by which QB performs better. I think McCarthy has a clear edge. If he's at the top of his game and we win the turnover battle, we win. UM wins 27 - 17.

M doesn't need to win the TO battle, they just can't be worse than -1 in the TO battle. If they win the TO battle they'll win by 28.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

We'll see. We haven't played a real offense yet so we don't know how our defense translates into someone with a pulse. We have had statistically great defenses get absolutely wrecked late in the season on more than a few occasions.
And although we appear to have licked our road woes the past couple of years, Harbaugh's average in that department is still really bad.

Drew Allar isn't wrecking anyone. PSU's WRs aren't wrecking anyone.
The bigger challenge is against PSU's defense which is, IMO, legitimately good.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Back in 2018, we felt pretty good about our defense going late into the season and they got shredded by Indiana -- coached on offense by Mike Debord. No need to mention what OSU did. As I said, we've been here before, and this movie has had an unhappy ending on a few occasions.

Well, heh -- I think Minter *might* have got hoisted on his own petard with the CS information. If they play TCU straight up they win that game by 3 TDs. TCU was terrible. If they get gamed into thinking a certain play is coming and TCU hornswaggles them, then, yeah -- that's how you consistently get these chunk plays. And, vice versa, maybe how JJ throws bad INTs.
Whatever. That's for a different thread.
They're going to play Penn State straight up and they're just better. This will, however, be a window into how they'll fair against Georgia in the CFP title game.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
