Well, the good weather news is that on Saturday, the humidity will drop into the 30-40% range according to the NWS Forecast Discussion for Lincoln. If you look at the chart I posted up thread WBTs as high as the low 100s keeps Lincoln out of the red zone. Doesn't mean it won't be hot as hell - it will be but the heat isn't going to shut down the game.

Still forecasting 30mph winds out of the SW. The passing game will be a mess, FGs hard to come by. The game will be an attritional slug fest. That gives Neb, at home, some advantage as M, at it's best, has a very good passing game that is going to be mostly neutralized. The short stuff might work but you can bet Rhule will be prepared for disguising coverages and getting McCarthy confused and uncomfortable.

Neb's D this year is a 3-3-5 Stack and very blitzy. The short passing game - dictated by winds - will be profitable when Neb folds into C-0. Alex Drain thinks M's OL will hold up against Neb's blitzyness to offer nice gains on the edges. Hint, throw it to Edwards running some exotic sweeps. This is mostly a zone D and the CBs play loosely. Quinto Newsome, a fifth year senior, playing CB is really good. knows zone coverage and can stick with any of M's receivers. Avoid him.

The Ss have some tackling issues especially in C-1 when the D is bringing more than 4, which they do a lot. If a receiver or RB gets to the second level a big play is likely to result assuming the downfield blocking is there. Live by the blitz, die by the blitz ..... is that Don Brown on the sidelines?
