The last time that we covered the spread was against Purdon't. 0-4 ATS since then. It should be a pretty easy 0-5 after this weekend. Bettors apparently havent' adjusted to how the new clock rules affect Michigan and our meh offensive line play.

I'm taking the points for the 4th straight week in our pick 'em pool. Michigan games have been automatic. Can't pick anything else worth diddly fuck.

Back to Rutgers matchup.......mgo (Alex Drain) has published his usual Friday release of the Rutgers edition of Fee-Fi-Foe Film, Rutger's Defense. I think the nay-sayers here about M scoring in htis game gives too much credit to a Rutger's D that has identifiable weaknesses. First the DTs. They are reportedly just guys that don't offer much in terms of creating pressures. Shiano has, accordingly called a lot of blitzes from the LB slot and S. When this happens, another weakness is exposed: with the blitz, Rutger's corners are forced into man coverage. There is ample evidence that they got toasted and this is by teams with WR rooms not close to the talent level of M's ........... JJ, throw to Wilson he's going to be open!

Shiano's recognizable tendency to run blitz his LBs allows for M's OL to disrupt these leaving lanes both inside and/or outside to be exploited by some of the more exotic offensive plays in M's playbook. I don't care about the conspiracy theory of holding back plays to spring on unsuspecting BIG opponents coming up. I think JH and Moore pick plays to run based on how the game is unfolding. If an exotic is called for it will get called.

So, my last "informed" low end score prediction is mostly based on the number of plays M will actually run. If it turns out that the Rutger's D hype is just that and M is dominating at the LOS on offense, I'll gladly and happily be wrong and wiz and talent will gain oracle status.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

The whole secondary is (still) injured and Graham broke his hand 😬

That would be a far scarier injury report against a QB that's a threat to throw. Are there any of those on M's schedule before Penn State?

                                Random:

                                14-7 ... KIND of what I expected...

For some reason, Rutsgers plays Michigan tough nowadays.

I'd like to see Michigan be a 2nd half team again today.

Wimsatt is good at his fakes. I'd expect to see more RPO from Rutsgers.

JJ got a bit better as the half went on, but still seems snakebit from last week.

M is insisting on running, ... Rutsgers/Schiano isn't going to allow that. To move the ball, M is going to have to loosen things up a bit.

I'll be glad when we get Will and Morgan back at 100%. Neither appears to be there yet. We need Mason back too.

As Schiano was leaving the field he said "There's a lot of 'stuff' going on out there". Working the zebras for the 2nd half I guess.
