This season, M has consistently let the play clock run down before hiking the ball. Against BGSU, M ran 56 plays, v. UNLV the week before it was 43. JH has never had his offenses play fast. He prefers long drives rather than quick strikes. The new clock rules can work for M with an approach like this. The only time you'll see somewhat of a fast pace is early in the game. He likes to get a couple of scores on the board. That approach helps the defense and forces the opponent to play catch-up.
This Saturday, you've go two coaches trying to slow the game down that have teams with top 10 defenses. In light of facts that have been presented this week by various analysts, I'm changing my initial out the ass score of 42-24 to a better informed prediction of 28-10.
