Luckily we don’t live in a “Black Mirror”-like society where you MUST watch the commercials to get access to a product. Not quite yet… that could be the future though with technology.
How about I be allowed to do what I have been able to do for the past 21 years -- fast forward through them?

dang ... that 50 yard FG was good from 60 ... the kid has a leg. He hit that WAY up into the net.

On the whole, I'm OK with this performance so far. Michigan's gotten a couple of breaks from the refs, to be sure. The running game has been less than impressive, though the field position didn't help on the first drive. My biggest concern right now remains the edge pass rush-- there hasn't been much, and this isn't a great offensive line they're going up against. Michigan's got to find somebody that can win one-on-one battles against offensive tackles.

How do you ask McCarthy to play better than he did in the first half? (rhetorical question)

16/18 for 181 yards, no sacks, no INTS

          Loveland and Wilson.... look out

Only thing I can gripe about would be that the DL doesn't seem to be getting much pressure in passing downs. Their QB has squeeked away in a couple situations.

          Other than that, they're fine.

The team announced one additional assistant coach for today's game. He's a member of the Harbaugh family, and a cousin to John and Jim Harbaugh.

Folks, meet Henry Harbaugh... who will be the "get back" coach at today's game.

Officals as usual have been horrid. Wallace INT was called incomplete? Clearly had the ball, and inbounds. Peacock audio was out at the time.

The question in the opener is will Kirk Campbell, the OC with Moore sitting this one out along with JH, be greenlighted to optimize his weapons setting the tone for the 2023 offense?
If Campbell is making the play-calls from the booth, the answer to this question is an unqualified yes. The ratio in the first have is 59/41 pass/rush. This is a link to new feature at mgoblue.com. Advanced Stats: Some of the numbers are eyepopping and tell the story of both play-calling and JJ's execution.

Will play-action and real (not fake) read-option be featured in this game as a prelude to an identity of M's 2023 offense? Or will Harbaugh continue to prefer, in signature fashion, bludgeoning opponents with Corum and Edwards featured in a strongly run oriented offense?
Lots of PA. I did not see any RPO/RO. Minter/Campbell made a switch from inside zone reads to outside zone that challenged ECU's edge defenders. There is no question that ECU watched TCU tape and routinely brought a S up alternating gap speed rush over the C v. over RG - very aggressive play. Behind that, ECU played almost exclusively zone and JJ picked it apart.

Other interesting things to watch are M's Stanford transfer at C and the edge rushers on defense.?
C play looked fine to me. It's not something I have an eye for though.

Edge rushers? Nothing stood out to me good or bad but the 4 man rush produced plenty of pressure. Disciplined also demonstrated by rushing yards inside. QB sneaks not withstanding.

Importantly, what will M's red zone offense look like. In 2022,
The play calling and execution was innovative enough to not get the offense stuck inside the 5 or 10 with goal to go. I'd call that a big improvement in RZ work.

Finally ST. M's two best kickers went to the NFL. Worth watching v. ECU although.
Looked good to me. A 50y FG topped off a nice performance ignoring the missed EP (and the dumb production gaff that missed the entire EP try).

A very acceptable first half for answering the pre-game question I posed

Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

                  Wilson TD #3!

JJ McCarthy and Roman Wilson both ascending goes along ways for the ceiling of this team. Wilson in particular, it might remind me of that season when Jeremy Gallon randomly turned out to be a stud.

OL is having a really bad day in run blocking.

They were overhyped again just like last year. They're good at times but certainly not the dominating squad some are squawking about. They need to throw the ball to win.

Last year's OL was great though.

Pass blocking has been very good but run blocking for some reason is not good at all today. Worst run blocking performance by the OL since at least 2020 and I'm thinking maybe since the 2019 Army game..

Backups are in. I think that we're in for a brutal 4th quarter.

I guess I will be seeing the highlights on Michigan Replay. I thought I could at least listen to the game but I guess the stations have changed and can't pick a station that carries the game.
