30-3 is your final, after a second half that felt more like a scrimmage during two-a-days. It'll be interesting to see how the energy level changes next week with Jay Harbaugh and Mike Hart in charge. The second half energy and execution today were uninspired. East Carolina's defense played better than I expected, but still, that game should have finished 37-0 or 44-0.Comment

Very sad, indeed 2nd half. Disappointing comedy of errors leaves a bad taste for this one where M controlled ECU most of the game. ECU had no quit in them and played M tough to the last play of the game. Meanwhile, admittedly with the 2s and 3s coming in although the 1s didn't look great either in the 3rd, errors, janky substitutions and both offense and defense that seemed out of synch. That's compared to the first half where the sidelines, the booth and the players produced a well oiled and synched offense and defense.
I tend to think the run blocking was made to look bad by ECU playing the numbers correctly, i.e., 9 hats on 8 or 8 hats on 7 or put it this way, a lot of RPS wins for ECU's defense. Compared to last year, before TCU showed how to slow M's offense, with lots of run blitzing. In the face of ECU's D doing that, Campbell adjusted JJ's launch point or gave him play calls with the option to roll out and he punished ECU's D with his vastly improved passing game. This season opponents are going to have to be careful with a heavy run-blitz oriented defense.
Run/pass play selection was 50/56. I don't think what ECU was doing with their run blitz on D had anything to do with what play was called pre-snap. There's no way of telling if JJ checked down. Still a lot of shit to clean up. I will say this: Best opening game first 30 or so minutes of play I've seen. Here's the advanced stats link again:

Corum's first game back from injury and seemed to lack the explosiveness he had for 10 games last year. There were plays that were open that he would / could take it to the house and just petered out. OL passed blocked well but not great on run blocking. C and RT played poorly.
Overall though on offense the fact they could pass so well for 3 quarters is something positive. They will have to have a balanced offense to win 12 games... yes.Comment

It looked like the game plan was to get enough points to win, then get out of there. Both teams were trying to shorten the game, and it worked. In the 2nd half, Michigan wasn't snapping the ball until there were under 10 seconds. Walking to the ball, huddling every play, there was definitely a slowdown going on. I guess it might have been on purpose. Perhaps Minter wanted to just win the game and keep everyone healthy?
It definitely should have been about 48-0.
JJ and Roman Wilson were your standouts, and throw Loveland in there as well. Corum looked good, but he also seemed to be trying too hard. I'd like to see him explode into the creases, rather than trying to imitate Barry Sanders. He ain't Barry. Same with Donovan. Just smash into that gap, and run.
Another tomato can next week. Maybe they can find a way to break 40 points.
Also .. as far as the 2nd half 'disorganization', .. I think this is where Harbaugh was missed. I think things would have been smoother with him in there.

Outdoor scoreboards last 10-15 years, they had to be replaced as they were built in 2011.
Im going with the majority here and thought they looked great according to M-Live the reviews were overwhelmingly positive. The old ones were outdated and too small.

Well, they are the 3rd largest in the country. Only behind Auburn's Stadium and Purdue's Stadium, but those fields only have one scoreboard. What more do you want?

If they want to do something fan friendly, why not lower ticket prices, get rid of the stupid seat liscense, and lower concession prices?
