No. That's not what you meant.

Michigan was bad, no doubt. Players sick with Covid, AND Gretchen Whitmer's stupid quarrantine rules would have made them even worse. The score of any "game" played under those circumstances would have had osu in the 80's, and Michigan possibly not even scoring. Walk ons would have been starting for Michigan. That's how bad it was.

THAT is what you wanted, and you feel cheated about.

Just be honest and admit it.

        • That's odd. She made burgers for me. Then I fed her a sausage.

It's actually not. I just wanted to play. M was really bad in 2020. Fully healthy. Like losing by a bazillion to Wisconsin and being lucky to beat Rutgers in OT bad.

Hannibal is correct -- Ohio State was robbed of a chance to beat M badly. Whether it was 35 point badly or 80 point badly wasn't significant. The "badly" is the important part. Actually, the most important part is the "win". It goes to the total. It goes to the record. M (and HARBAUGH!!!) was pardoned from a certain loss -- even at full heatlh.

Whether you believe me or not I don't really care. But that's the truth for me and the vast majority of OSU fans.

            • If my memory is correct, Michigan never released any details of the football program Covid shutdown - i.e. how many players had it, what protocol they were following exactly, etc. That is somewhat different from most other outbreaks in that time period. That leaves people like Talent and myself speculating that Michigan was simply shutting down the team to dodge their last few games. TBF I think that there is a good chance that they had a legitimate outbreak and they cancelled everything out of an abundance of caution. These same drooling retards shut down the basketball team for a couple of weeks, so there might have been more than just avoided an embarrassing loss on their agenda.

It, without a doubt, saved Harbaugh. We'll never know if his hypothetical replacement would have won The Game.

              • I actually take M at face value on the Covid cases. I will sass that for all eternity, but it was genuine, IMO. But, like I said -- and you said -- it was very unlucky for CRD and Ohio State that M had an outbreak. No outbreak=blowout win for OSU. Oh well. As you've noted, Hannibal, Ohio State led a fairly charmed life against M under Coach Tressel and UFM. So, eventually they were going to be unlucky.

                • Likely losses to Iowa and Maryland were cancelled too. Maryland would have beaten us by 20+. That might have been just as bad.

                  • Correct. That was a terrible team. They started Milton (LOL). They still had Don Brown. It was a bad, bad team. And a full normal, non-Covid season would have been hugely problematic for HARBAUGH!!!! I mean, it was Year 6. And that's what he had. Heh. The counterfactuals are fascinating and, yet, sadly they are counterfactuals. Booo.

                    • I was too busy railing about the stupidity of the over-reaction to COVID to give a shit about M's cancel bullshit - all of it consistent with woke public health viewpoints. The takeover of public health policy by administrators that were accountable to no one, writing about it again makes me mad. A devastating set of COVID related public health policy initiatives that we have yet to recover from and may never fully recover from. The long term effects of them will go down in history as catastrophic to American interests..

TBF, that M football cancelled it's 2020 season is more of an indictment of the U's sheeple approach to COVID than it is reflective of a surrender monkey approach coming from Jim Harbaugh. So, talent's acknowledgement that he took the cancelation of the 2020 osu game at face is a very fair assessment of that situation compared to the alternate reality that Harbaugh just wanted to avoid getting hamblasted.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

                      • No, I actually don't think HARBAUGH!!!! is a pussy surrender monkey. As noted, I'll still forever sass him as such, but he was ready to take his medicine.

The entire year of Covid was infuriating. INFURIATING. Kevin Warren can still go fuck himself. And I'm limiting my covid comments to football. But, yeah.

Anyway, it worked out for M. Very much. Bastards.

Precisely. They got the whole athletic department shut down by failing to follow basic protocols when an English track athlete flew back to A2 from the UK right as the UK variant was scaling up. Failing to follow basic protocols. I'm thrilled that Warde's constitpation led to Harbaugh having time to find himself again, but let's be clear that Warde is not a competent administrator and lacks competent administrators below him in the AD's leadership.

If that makes Buckeyes sad, well, all the better. It makes me sadder. People died because of that. They didn't have to. Warde, who had been using the pandemic as an excuse not to extend Harbaugh, got his own contract extended shortly afterward. That, to me, is a scandal. That's a shameful mark on the history of the school that's been very effectively swept under the rug because not enough people read the Michigan Daily. One thing they sure can do is threaten the access of journalists who aren't on campus and have a special case for access.

EF to the muthafuhking Z. The only reason the B1G had ANY season at all was UNL and OSU holding that fuhking morons feet to the fire...and as I recall the speaker of the "surrender monkey nation" Desmond Howard wanted UNL booted from the B1G for their stance. M was a surrender monkey. It's fact. But HARBAUGH!!!!!!! has rebuilt M the way he needed to...and in a way I hope Rhule can somewhat do at UNL...in the trenches. I for one think that the super spread days in CFB aren't over...I think the kryptonite for it is what HARBAUGH!!!!!!! has done...it's what UNL did in the 80's and 90's...what Wisconsin has done...and what UGA is doing now as well. You still need speed and the RPO is still a dangerous tool but defenses have caught up with it...can't wait to see USC have to play smashmouth football for nine weeks a year...
