M is running out of more formations with 3 WRs. Slightly spreads out the OSU defense, but it’s certainly worked in the 2nd half.
When OSU had 8 defenders in the box in the 1st half, M couldn’t run the ball at all.

The big factor in the improving run game for Edwards is McCarthy running RO and making the reads correctly. He's going outside and beating purusit. What that thret has done is open the run game inside the tackles.
