With Bert loosing his last two, the Illini look out of sync. Illinois RB Chase Brown went down late in the game v. Purdue. There's some debate this morning about how serious the injury was. Don't know of other Illinois player injuries.
As I posted in another thread, M is trying to cobble together an OL that works for Corum. Reports vary on who is available and who isn't. Hayes played some snaps at LT. Perci played the most. Trent Jones played at RT yesterday but Barnhart, even banged up, seems to be the chosen one. Blake Edwards played early then was out. Appears to be a hand injury. Mike Morris was also dinged on the last play of the game. Remains to be seen how serious these two injuries to key players are. So, a contest of the crippled.
It's frustrating to watch M football with so much at stake and what seems to be an M V8 football team running on 6 cylinders. M certainly has an MO even at full power to sweep in on the first couple of possessions and then sputter for the remainder of the first half. v. Nebraska, they did not come out particularly strong in the 3rd with JJ hamstrung by poor OL play (I don't think Harbaugh had "his foot on the breaks."). I haven't seen the full second half yet so, I'll reserve criticism. But this game should look pretty much the same for M. Will dominate in the stats, not on the score board. Part of that is going to be injury and resting players related, part will be a vanilla D and O. Not expecting a beat down.
