  • Michigan 19, Illinois 17, Post Game Discussion

With Bert loosing his last two, the Illini look out of sync. Illinois RB Chase Brown went down late in the game v. Purdue. There's some debate this morning about how serious the injury was. Don't know of other Illinois player injuries.

As I posted in another thread, M is trying to cobble together an OL that works for Corum. Reports vary on who is available and who isn't. Hayes played some snaps at LT. Perci played the most. Trent Jones played at RT yesterday but Barnhart, even banged up, seems to be the chosen one. Blake Edwards played early then was out. Appears to be a hand injury. Mike Morris was also dinged on the last play of the game. Remains to be seen how serious these two injuries to key players are. So, a contest of the crippled.

It's frustrating to watch M football with so much at stake and what seems to be an M V8 football team running on 6 cylinders. M certainly has an MO even at full power to sweep in on the first couple of possessions and then sputter for the remainder of the first half. v. Nebraska, they did not come out particularly strong in the 3rd with JJ hamstrung by poor OL play (I don't think Harbaugh had "his foot on the breaks."). I haven't seen the full second half yet so, I'll reserve criticism. But this game should look pretty much the same for M. Will dominate in the stats, not on the score board. Part of that is going to be injury and resting players related, part will be a vanilla D and O. Not expecting a beat down.

I mean, it depends on if HARBAUGH!!!! is just content to hand the ball off again. Illinois won't score more than 10 without some significant fortune.

It'll be a lot like yesterday's game, but I think Illinois will put up a fight on defense. If you like a running game, you'll like this game because that's what both teams will want to do.

        I hope Edwards can play.

Chase Brown’s injury initially looked severe, but there’s video of him walking around after the game. Who knows.

M should rest any player with an injury… seems like it’s a long list of minor injuries. Including Mike Morris thanks to a late scare. It’s all about prepping for the big game in Columbus in 13 days.

I saw Morris walking around and if I read his lips correctly, he was saying "I'm fine, I'm fine". I guess we'll see. We don't need to lose that guy.

                        From mlive:

The Wolverines opened as 17 1/2-point favorites in their next-to-last regular season game on Saturday in Ann Arbor (Noon, ABC), according to lines published by Circa Sports in Las Vegas.

That number has largely remained stable in local betting markets, with Michigan -17.5 available at FanDuel and BetRivers. You can get a more favorable number on the Wolverines, minus-17, at DraftKings and Caesars Sportsbook.

Hey, dudes. I'm taking my family to the game this weekend. I haven't been to a game in AA since 2015. Is Scio Church Road still a good place to park?

Also -- are you allowed to bring those little portable stadium seats into the building? It's supposed to be pretty cold -- you can bring in a blanket, yes?

I expect this game to be brutally unwatchable -- at least for a neutral fan. Illinois is solid on defense and boring on offense -- if Chase Brown is hurt, they'll be screwed on offense.

                            I'm calling 27-10 UM.

Hanni, I'm working on connecting you with the tailgate crowd at the Scio Church lot. I'll PM you with details. I'm not going to be there but my son will be.
