Yeah, agreed on the preparedness issue but I'd add that post game comments I've read from guys that follow the X's and O's of M's games closely have said that Allen and Schiano are really good at throwing stuff at M's D and their defenses punching way above their wait with D players in unexpected roles. CFB crappe is a term Brian Cook has used on offensive gadget plays.
That makes some sense in the perception that M "looks unprepared." Given the prep time for each game, you can only look at so much tape, install schematics to counter what you've seen your next opponent do. By the same reasonsing, the opponent can only add so much to thier bags of tricks and by the mid 2nd quarter, they've used most of their bag of tricks up and default to their base offenses and defenses .... of course with some adjustments before the half, lots of them after the half.
Just spitballing here. I'm not sure, without being a fly on the wall inside Schembechler Hall, we can know this kind of detail.
