Syracuse just played at Clemson and hosted Notre Dame. The transitive property ain’t great, but that’s about as much value as it will have.
The ACC ballbag bad.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

I"m recording it .... a first. Other plans involving socializing, merriment and adult beverages. Way more fun to be had than watching M v. Rutgers.
I can almost guarantee that I've seen every offensive play M will run against the Scarlet Knights. There will be nothing new to see and that is one of the only reasons I enjoy watching the games on TV. The rest of the TV broadcasts area fucking chore to watch a football game. The parts that don't include the play and post-play analysis - and this excellent technology is fucked away to go to commercial break, a sideline personal interest story, meaningless stats and what happened in past games - makes watching TV broadcasts painful. I watch with the TV muted.
Klatt and Blackledge are good color guys. Professional. I'd put money on the reality that they don't like their jobs except for the pay-check. That's because it is hard to do it credibly with the load of crap they have to deal with from the production booh..
If Harbaugh was going to come out air-raid, he would have done it v. MSU. Just not in his DNA so, expect to not see McCarthy going bonkers through the air like every M football fan would love to see .... just once in a while!Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

Being in the stadium watching snapshots, hype videos and rap DJs on the big screen, while the clown in the red jacket stands on the 20 yard-line during 3-minute media timeouts isn't exactly getting the job done either..

As of right now, sparty is going to be without 8 players. It could be more by the weekend."The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, .. I'd worn them for weeks, and they needed the air"

Working to at least make this game interesting. Some stats and other takes:- Rutgers isn't good on offense but on defense they are ranked 16th in limiting big plays (over 10 yards). 19th in run defense allowing 108.13 ypg. 21st in pass defense (187.1).
- Schiano's disciplined defense held M to 20 points in Ann Arbor in 2021
- Is Harbaugh going to green-light deep balls? No. Rutgers is one of 12 teams to have not relinquished a 50-plus yard passing play this year, allowing only 2 over 40 (tied for 5th).
- Schiano will make McCarthy beat them underneath. He'll play some version of a soft at the corners C-2 (limit big plays) with weird S/LB assignments to get numbers in the box.
- Schoonmaker is going to be the leading receiver. The screen game will be there.
- Michigan probably won’t deviate from its “slow bleed” formula, and it shouldn’t.
- Your eyes are likely to bleed watching this game. If you enjoy the sight of a python squeezing it's prey before the thing eats it, well, you might like watching

To add to the zest of the coming Rutgers game this weekend, I finally made it to this weekly portion of the mgo web page, "Opponent Watch." I've cut and pasted it because it is hilarious not with standing a generally held viewpoint here that other writers at mgo that try to inject humor into their writing style fail miserably at that effort where Brian Cook shiines at it. But this stuff is good from BISB:
Rutgers (4-4, 1-4 B1G)
Last week: Lost at Minnesota, 31-0
Recap: The worst part about the MSU tunnel assault situation, obviously, is that it is a distraction from the real story right now: IT’S RUTGERS WEEK. A sacred time for all. The reason for the season. The siren song of cable subscribers everywhere. Don’t lose focus, people. Eyes on the prize.
Anyway, on Saturday, Minnesota Minnesota’d, Rutgers Rutger’d, and that about enough of that.
The Gophers outgained Rutgers 375 (5.1 YPP) to 134 (3.0 YPP), and did so almost exclusively on the ground. Minnesota’s backs, led by Mo Ibrahim, rushed for 233 yards at 4.8 yards per carry. Minnesota’s set the tone from the opening whistle; their first two drives combined to span 32 plays and 17:30 of game time.
Meanwhile, the Rutgers’ offense continued to struggle, gaining a total of 7 first downs on the day. Rutgers started sophomore Gavin Wimsatt, who is still not quite ready. He went 6 of 17 for 68 yards (4.0 YPA) and a pick before being replaced by Noah Vedral… who was somehow even worse.
This team is as frightening as: Donald Duck. Always really angry, but in an endearing kind of way. Hard to understand. They’ve been the way they are for so long that you sometimes gloss over the fact that they aren’t wearing pants. Fear Level = 3 (emphasis on the no pants line mine).
