If that's all I wanted, I got it last year in the M vs osu game. I thought that game was well officiated. Neither team had to play over officiating mistakes. The crew buried the flags and let the teams play.

I'll be standing by when you guys gripe about the officiating in a game where their mistakes cost you a win.

I may have to wait a while though. You guys seem to think B1G officiating is amazingly fair and accurate.

Still a lot of season to go.

Well, I didn't gripe after the 2019 Clemson CFP game. So, you know, you'll be waiting a looooong time.

Cade Mcnamara remains listed as "out" on the latest MLive Monday injury update. However, there's been some chatter that he is going to be available next Saturday for MSU; none of it well sourced. The reason I mention this is that Harbaugh has recently taken the wraps off of JJ's run options. That he presented a threat to run had a lot to do with 400+ run game yardage v. PSU. I posted about this a day ago and recommended an mgo Neck Sharpies article that breaks down how the PSU D dealt with it (not well).

We've been talking about how having a run option, RPO QB that can actually make the right reads is a powerful addition to M's offense. Last season it was pretty obvious that if any QB kept the ball and ran it, that QB wasn't doing any kind of read. If there were any RPOs in M's 2021 offense, I didn't see them (I think 2021 UFRs might have caught a few).

Early in the season, I wasn't sure McCarthy was actually reading the D and based on that read, keeping or giving it. His runs were very limited. Against PSU he definitely ran read option run plays but not RPOs that I saw. The point is that with an apparent increase for JJ in QB run option reads, Cade may have already returned to non-contact practice and Harbaugh, knowing Macnamara is available should JJ get injured, is working those plays into M's in-game repertoire from the playbook.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

And that game wasn't officiated by a B1G crew, so there is that.

Fear not. I have you marked down as one who is completely satisfied with the professionalism, integrity and accuracy of B1G officiating. I'd never accuse you of otherwise.

                      • All things considered, there's almost NO WAY this game should hinge on the competency or bias of the officials.

                        • Liney is under the impression that I think B1G officials are perfect. They aren't of course as there is no such thing as a perfect official (with moi being the exception). However liney and other M fans seem to feel that B1G officials are biased against his beloved Wolverines. This is why the WWCAW exists.

                          The prosecution rests your honor.

                          • Yes. I believe there are officials within the B1G that do not like Michigan, and drop their flag at every possible opportunity. I've used the term micro-officiating, and it applies. And there are crews that carry loose flags. We've already seen it this season, and if Fox Sports noticed it (they did) then everyone should notice it.

I've already stated that on the other side of that coin, I've seen games where the officiating seemed fair. Last week was one example, and last year's M v osu game is another. I think this year's Iowa game was well officiated.

And finally, I'd like to see the B1G assign four (4) B1G officials from the state of Michigan to the game in Columbus this season. They assigned four Ohio officials to the game in 2016, and I think its only fair that the favor be returned to Michigan. Fair is fair, right?

                            Thank you.

                            • What Wiz said. The idea that refs are actively working again M is 100% pure twat bitch.

The officials in the 2019 Clemson game made some bad calls. But I would never attribute bias to them nor did attribute the outcome to them. That’ll never be me.

                              • Michigan has gotten very famously hosed at least a half dozen times in Rose Bowls and in rivalry games. Terrible calls that have been a deciding factor in close games. We have about one game a year where some unlucky foe gets screwed over by the refs, (e.g. Iowa ths year, Illinois in 2000, etc) but the shitshows that go against us vastly outnumber them. This trend has been very pronounced in the Harbaugh era and some people have speculated that Harbaugh purposely changed his sideline personality to try and stop it.

Funny enough, the trend reversed itself in the RichRod and Hoke years. Both RichRod and Hoke benefitted from some really bad callls. Maybe the refs felt sorry for us I don't know.
