  • The officials in the 2019 Clemson game made some bad calls. But I would never attribute bias to them nor did attribute the outcome to them. That’ll never be me.
Well then, congratulations. You are a one in a million CFB fan. And you are likely one in a million among osu fans, because a lot of them griped after that one.

We have documented evidence of calls against Michigan costing them wins. Going all the way back to the phantom touchdown in the Rose Bowl, to several MSU 'wins', into the lazy officiating of osu 2016. It has happened. Documented and verified.

Micro-officiating has been a reality since instant replay arrived, when its original intent was to correct errors. It is what it is. I've seen micro-officiating used against Michigan more than I've seen it used FOR them. That's my opinion, and I'm not changing it.

Call me whatever name(s) you feel are necessary. Its a problem, and its a problem that is never going away.

        • Do refs miss calls?

          Yes.

Do they miss calls that hurt M?

          Yes.

Do they miss calls against all programs?

          Yes.

          Do they miss them equally?

          No.

Is this intentional because of M bias?

          No.

          The Prosecution rests. Again.

          • I was about to write a post saying just what you posted ....... count yourself lucky because it would have been at least 1000 words.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

You know, Michigan deserves some of the blame for that 2016 debacle. While we banter here about "Leaders and best", we're pretty tongue in cheek about it. That's not quite universal, however. In this case, there’s no way in hell that Michigan had no idea who the crappy refs were by the end of November of 2016 and they coulda/shoulda made sure that the Conference knew that those guys shouldn’t have been officiating their showcase (to the ENTIRE country) game. As far as we know, they did nothing other than follow the path of (self) righteousness and assume that the rest would all follow. LOL. Credit Urbs and Ohio for playing that angle to their advantage

              • I don't think you have ever heard me complain about the refs in an MSU game. And they clearly get a lot of penalties, they are always among the most penalized teams in football. Penalties happen.

                • UNL is heavily penalized...and deservedly so.

                  • People have asked me over the years about whether college football officials have bias or :"bitterness" toward certain teams or coaches...because of my officiating at several levels of college football...my response is always something like this...

Whilst it may appear that may be the case sometimes...you have to look at this question objectively. Have their been programs/coaches over the years that have irritated my and my various crews? Absolutely. There are many personalities in the coaching ranks and many...what I would say are primadonnas, loose canons or just all out asshats. That is not in dispute. Officials are human and they will have their opinions of these people. The question is does it actually affect calls on the field? I would say it probably has with some officials...but those guys don't last long and they seldom get elevated to higher levels of football officiating (FBS and NFL). The level of scrutiny that is given to FBS crews and NFL crews is overwhelming...and I'm glad and was always glad it was that way. We were graded on every play of every game every week. For this kind of behavior to be widespread would mean their is a conspiracy. So I guess if you believe in conspiracies (WWCAW) then have at it Hoss. Officials have MULTIPLE cameras on their EVERY MOVE...and yes there is a level of subjectivity in many calls...thus there are bad calls...they happen. They happen for various reasons...out of position, bad angles, etc. We have admitted that. But to say these calls happen due to some bias or conspiracy is ludicrous.

                    That said...

                    • FWIW...many UNL fans thought B12 officials Greg Burks and Steve Usechek were biased against UNL...and specifically Bo Pelini. I told them to watch games they officiate when UNL isn't playing...they blow calls in those games too. You just are sensitive to it when it happens to UNL. On a sidenote...Burks is now the Head of Officials in the B12 Conference. So the conspiracy must be really thick there...but of course...UNL is gone so they accomplished their mission. Now UNL fans tell me the B1G is out to get UNL...

                      ...the beat goes on...
