It is a good preview at Mgo ....... but none of us, well maybe most of us here, don't think Hawaii will keep this one competitive. There are some things to watch on both O and D.
In the run game Hawaii's RG (who pulls a lot) and LT who joins up with him to create lanes for a decent RB is better at doing those kinds of things than CSU. That's not to say they will do good things and that's something to watch.
M's Edge and LB play was, somewhat unexpectedly, phenominal against CSU (see the UFR Defense). TBF, that doesn't mean much. If that sort of dominance up front is repeated though, its a pattern involving a thing that was a major concern going into the season. That LB play is essentially not opponent dependent we saw LBs in the right place and making plays resulting in both QB sacks, negative runs and the D not getting edged - at all.
The passing game for the Bow's is terrible for a lot reasons covered in the preview. The back-end of Minter's D isn't going to be seriously challenged. We can watch to see if Freshman 5* talent WIll Johnson gets beaten, like he did, v. his receiver on a deep route that went for a CSU TD late. In the UFR that play and Johnson's bust out of a C2 Zone was because it appeared he hesitated long enough to let the CSU receiver get a few steps on him thinking the QB was going to get sacked. Something that had happened multiple times earlier in that game. DId he learn not to back off until the whistle blows?
Finally, Hayes is supposed to be back at LT, moving Keegan back to RG. M still did reasonably well in their run game behind a resuffled OL. It could have been better with the starters in and should be markedly so v. Hawaii. Worth watching. On that note, somebody wrote that if McCarthy has to scramble more than 4 or 5X in what will likely be 3 quarters or less of QB play for him, he's not going to prove key things he has to prove to win the starting job. Those are proving that he can make pre-snap reads, get the team into the right play, not bale prematurely or throw the ball errantly, either away or to a Hawaii defender, but instead hang in there and confidently hit his primary or secondary receiver on a pass play. As well, can he consistently make his RPO and RO reads when that is the called play.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

My prediction is that there are going to be a lot of disappointed M fans tomorrow night about midnight.
No, I'm not predicting Michigan will lose.
Everybody is looking for 'sixty something to single digit something" and I don't think that's going to happen.
I'll also predict now, that Michigan will not cover the spread, and some will be angry at Harbaugh for not scoring enough.
One more prediction: JJ will not be as impressive as everyone expects him to be."The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, .. I'd worn them for weeks, and they needed the air"
