Moeller went 4-1 in bowl games and Lloyd went 5-2 against the SEC.

Michigan fans: Who do you expect to be Michigan's break-out player this season? Don't pick an obvious player, (JJ, Edwards, Corum, etc) .. pick someone who has not been heard of a lot that you expect to exceed expectations.
My pick is Kris Jenkins, DT
I think he's poised to be a real beast on that DL.

I thought the CBS/Peacock broadcast of M's opener v. ECU was awful - yet not much more "awful" than other networks broadcasts. Let's start with the production: several plays were run while producers were running irrelevant shorts. This sort of thing happens a lot across all the broadcasters doing M football games. Close behind that as major production gaffs were the endless unrelated yammering by either Mike Terico or Chris Simms who were the play-by-play and color guys for this NBC Sports broadcast. Cuts to plays were miss-timed with coverage joined with the play in progress. Maybe research that is done by ABC to find out what interests viewers of CFB games have tells them entertainment and personal interest stories is much higher in value to viewers than actual coverage and analysis of the game itself. I don't know but this has been a broadcast trend for a decade.
I have no idea of what the contract with CBS says about the length of media time outs or making it impossible for viewers to record the game, watch the replay and advance the replay through commercials. You can't do it and, usually, when you are paying for a show you can skip commercials on replay. Not Peacock. There was no uniformity, as there was with FOX and ABC in 2022 games, of the length of media time outs. Several approached 3 minutes. The norm was 2 minutes last season and in the stadium there was a countdown clock on the score boards for these.
My intent was to cancel my Peacock subscription after the broadcast. I activated my subscription on the TV a couple of weeks ago. In trying to get to the right place on my TV to "manage my subscription" I learned that it was billed through Xfinity (my internet and cable TV provider) not Peacock. The Xfinity "manage my subscriptions" page says I don't have any subscriptions so, I can't cancel it. I'll have to telephone Xfinity on Monday and clear this up. Obviously NBC wants it to be as difficult as possible to cancel a subscription.
I'm not sure that pay-TV for M football games is actually a trend. This deal is a step down from that but TBF, I'd rather actually pay for a game that was competently produced, had skilled and knowledgeable guys in the booth and was commercial free. This Peacock demonstrations wasn't that at all.Last edited by Jeff Buchanan; September 3, 2023, 08:32 AM.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

Peacock coverage was horrible. It was also so pro-Michigan, that even I got sick of it. I mean I love my team, but egads, man. Stop with the syrupy commentary, and just call the game, for goodness sakes. Replays were ill-timed, and like Jeff said, there were insignificant vignettes where they were covering something that had absolutely nothing to do with what was happening on the field. And they didn't even have the air headed bimbo on the sidelines, telling us what kind of pizza each player likes. I guess we have to wait for Fox Sports to do that.
And I wish I could have smacked Tirico in the mouth when he laughed about Clowney's hit on Vincent Smith. Calling it "one of the great moments in college football". Yeah, bub... let me knock you in the head at full speed and see if its a 'great moment'.
And something has to be done about replay. If its not being used to correct obvious errors, it should be done away with. Instead its being used to micromanage the call on the field, and too often they still get it wrong. The on field crew didn't have a really good game, but the replay booth was worse. Fortunately none of that affected the game's outcome.

You'll get no argument from me there. And that's actually out of character for him. He's usually pretty decent on the mic. He started out years ago with a style that was more like Al Michaels, but is now deteriorating into Brent Musberger."The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, ..
