You know who is the right AD for that job? Wisconsin's. Two of their players attacked Terrence Williams and Moussa Diabate last year, and Wisconsin doubled down, went on the offensive, and thoroughly owned Warde Manuel in the category of setting the narrative in media.

Warde is not the guy you want in charge right now. It shouldn't have even gotten this far. The statement he put out today, referencing ``respect for the NCAA's process'', is a move in the wrong direction. That statement should have been far more aggressive. The NCAA punches those who don't punch back.

The good thing is, there's time. I'm probably putting too many eggs in the New President Likes Sports basket, but Warde's track record of managing reputational crises like this one is pretty clearly terrible, and Ono didn't hire him or give him that incredibly awful extension. Further, Jim Harbaugh is now the Jim Harbaugh we thought we were getting, and needs to be retained. Under no circumstances do I want Warde leading a coaching search. Fire Warde and give Jim a say in who replaces him.

Nobody says that Michigan needs to stay in the NCAA. If you are arguing that their enforcement is unequal, you'll have no argument from me. If you are arguing buying a burger for a recruit is harmless, I agree. But admit it and go on, the punishment would have been minimal. But if you are operating under their rules, you don't get to decide if they can investigate or not. If everyone operates that way, it turns into rules for thee but not for me.
