      I think he was making a real move to take the starting job from McNamara. So I guess we'll have to see how far this sets him back.

        I guess better to happen now than in August. Hurts the depth though.

          McCarthy will NOT have surgery on his arm. The injury is described as "nagging". He will rest the arm and give it time to heal.

          He will not participate in the remainder of spring practice.

                Doug Karsch and Jon Jansen will be the broadcast team for Michigan football this year. Good call- definitely an upgrade.

                  An upgrade from Brandy on play-by-play. Brandy is a color guy. He never was meant to be a play-by-play guy.

                  Jansen a good pick for color guy. I liked Dierdorf, though. He spoke from his heart. I like that a lot. Jansen will do a great job.
