According to a Tweet by Ian Rappaport who posted an interview segment where he discussed NFL HC changes including that the Josh McDaniels deal with the Raiders is done, he also mentioned the three finalists for the Viking's HC position. Harbaugh is not among them.
Look, I got suckered in by the posts the last couple of days and it swung my does he leave or does he stay needle back down to 60/40 he leaves. That was dumb. Frankly, I was exasperated with JH because I listened to that shit and I know better not to do that.
Since my OB post game concerns where I said I thought M would have trouble keeping the coaching staff in place (accurate), possibly keeping Harbaugh (inaccurate) for that matter, there have been two well vetted and reasonable statements regarding JH's intentions: (1)..... that he would entertain NFL offers and (2) the Bears had asked M for permission to speak to Harbaugh. The rest of the speculation? Non-sense and rumor.
I'm pissed at myself for listening to any of that. I think it sucks that Macdonald left but, that whole "lend a coach" for a season stuff was spot on. Macdonald is a hot property, Both John and Jim know it and his return to the Ravens after he went to school to gain some experience as a DC with Jim at M was most likely the plan between the two of them all along. MD leaving just stirred the pot of a coaching staff heading for the hills in search of new employment, implied, because Harbaugh is leaving. More BS it would seem.
Well, is Harbaugh leaving? Given those two things above that are probably accurate reflections of Jim's intentions, the Rapport tweet, reports Harbaugh is not in play with the Bears and what we know from Stephen Ross's own lips, Harbaugh isn't going anywhere. Speculating why he isn't leaving is about as useless as speculating, at this point, that some other NFL team is going to give Jim an offer he can't refuse. Not happening.

Just leverage interviews. Next year will be the same shit and I think JH is looking at another renegotiated contact next year....if he puts up the same numbers next year as we saw in 2021.I don't watch Fox News for the same reason I don't eat out of a toilet.

Right now it's only a question of whether an NFL team will pull the trigger. If they do, then I'm almost certain he's gone. He knows he has two things in his favor (a) a contract with a minimal buyout (I'm assuming); and (b) he's coming off a unicorn season.
Last season, (a) never happened because, well, it shouldn't have happened. And, thus, he was forced to come back to M and swallow an "incentive-based" contract. Now, (b) has happened and he's hoping to fucking god it will change (a).Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

It strikes me as a little odd that beating Ohio State and winning the B10 for the first and only time in 7 seasons is a "drop the mic" moment for HARBAUGH!!!!, but maybe it is.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Like I said, I was pissed off I was listening to any of this shit ..... he's in, he's out, he's in, he's out. At this point (1) I'm not paying any attention to Harbaugh "reports." (2) I don't give a fuck what Harbaugh does nor do I hold any animus towards him for "entertaining offers" ..... the one thing we know about his intentions that is grounded in any facts.
BTW, also sick of will he or won't he retire reports on Tom Brady. Again, who gives a fuck what he does.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. I don't think it's really a "will he" or "won't he" question as much as it is a "will they" or "won't they".Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Heh. And, of course, with the right offer, Ron English is likely to depart Manilla and his efforts to teach disadvantaged Filipino youth the ins and outs of Stratego.

Nobody reporting on Harbaugh is on firm footing, he doesn't have an agent, he doesn't talk to a lot of people. Some of the feelers are being done by his brother's agent. So guys like Rappaport or Schefter have less to go on.
My view is if he is going to go, he is getting a Gruden style deal. He is not going for a standard NFL head coaching deal. The guy who went to the Bears is just happy for the job, if Coach Jim was just happy to be back in the NFL, he would be their coach and not Matt Eberflus.
