Looking at your opponents, I don’t see anyone as good as Michigan before you head to Columbus. A slip-up is certainly possible, but fairly unlikely imo.

A slip-up is highly likely. Iowa in Iowa City is a nightmare. We have sucked ass at home against MSU since 2008. Even Harbaugh is only 1-3 against them in Ann Arbor. I'm not sure what to think about Penn State. They will be able to pick us apart if we can't get a pass rush. Maryland will rack up yards on us (they did last year). If they don't do all of the stupid crap that they did in their game with us last year it will be close.
Our offense will have to dominate almost every B1G game. It's not impossible, but even the greatest offenses suffer one or two turdburger games where the defense has to bail them out.

I think Michigan turned a corner last year. Won the BigTen, beat Ohio State, and went to the CFP. The team seems more focused and organized. The gameplan and in-game adjustments were generally logical and effective. I think you will build on that this year.

But, they're going to run into a bad game or two along the way, and if the offense can't put points on the board, they'll fall. This M team is going to be good. Much better than 8-4 good. But I think there'll be 1-2 stinkers along the way before the trip to Columbus.
But make no mistake about it. No matter how sappy the upcoming sandbagging will be here, OSU is the class of the conference. Anything less than 12-0 for them will be a bad year. They have a huge edge in talent. And CRD is out for a little revenge.

LOL .. yeah,.. because according to the Ohio lawyer in here, .. Michigan 'chickened out' on their scheduled beating in 2020 with that Covid excuse ...
I mean, why COULDN'T Michigan show up with the flute section of the band and the pom pom girls suited up? Cowards ..."The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, .. I'd worn them for weeks, and they needed the air"

osu will be good, no doubt, but they appear to be beatable on defense at least at first pre-season look. M is bringing potentially a very good offense onto the field. If you matched-up osu and M in the opener on a neutral field, I'd give M the odds on chance to beat osu. You've got unit strength on weakness with M's O facing osu's D out of the gate. Obviously, things happen during the season but I don't know a better way to make a comparison than by looking back (osu's D was not good in 2022) and seeing what improvements/difficulties osu's new DC Jim Knowles will deal with.
This ranking is from an mgoblu diary (link below) that looks at M's 2022 opponent's D unit by D unit. osu has two pretty average units within their their defense: CBs/S's and LBs. Their DL is slightly decent but not dominant by Drain's analysis.
Versus all of M's opponents, osu ranks #4, #5 and #3 respectively. The ranking is based on productivity in 2022, returning starters and the quality of those filling the spots of departed players. You can look through Alex Drain's analysis and judge for yourself. I think the unit rankings of M's 2022 opponents makes sense without quibbling about specifics between #1 and say #6. In the past, I'd do the digging and determine if Drain's analysis has value. I'm not doing that this season. I'm going to take the analysis of guys that are doing doing it for a living and devote a lot more time to research than I'm interested in.
Start with the D line analysis belwo and follow the jumps for LB, CB/S units.

I’m not sure anyone is beating Ohio State this year - including Alabama. Hell, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit already picked the Bucknuts to win it all, and they are probably right."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

OSU may have some weakness on defense, but that offense is going to score a ton of points.
Instead of winning games 35-3 like they have in the past, they might have to win games by scores like 56-21. But, they will still win, and they should be 11-0 when M comes to town.
And CRD still has promised to lay 100 on Michigan. He may try that this year."The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, .. I'd worn them for weeks, and they needed the air"
