  • I still have a hard time believing that it went very high up the chain due to the amateurism involved. I'm not even sold that Partridge knew but once the story broke, it sounds like he tried to cover some tracks after the fact and that's what got him in trouble. If any coaches knew the full scope of what Stallions was doing and didn't make sure that he was at least being discreet about it doesn't deserve their job. Ideally, they would have blown the whistle on the whole thing and sent Stalions packing but at the very least make sure he isn't leaving a goddamn paper trail that could come back to the program.

I'd really love to learn the backstory of how the PI firm got ahold of all this stuff and who hired them.

We all know that the answer can be found by looking at who's standing on third base.

      • You guys have been right every step of the way.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
        Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

But that doesn't explain how they got the info. Although, I just read an article that claimed Stalions' network was as many as 65 individuals. That's just so fucking stupid. So, I figure someone along the line got pissed at Connor or was easily duped by a PI into giving up the game.

And speaking of Stalions, I've said it once and it's worth repeating: the dude wasn't poor. Michigan is clearly in a world of shit over this but Stalions was clearly financially capable of financing his operation.

            • Tim Smith denies that he' "Uncle T". Yahoo call him up for a response and the dude talked their ear off for a half hour though!

Smith has not spoken to anyone at Michigan or the NCAA about the investigation but would be happy to do so, he said.
              NO, Tim Smith!! NO.

              • The funny thing is I think I saw CS admit he received money from Uncle T, but that it was only for personal use.

Need to get their stories straight first!

                • Also, one of the local newspapers filed a FOIA request to see if Stalions received any compensation for expenses during the time he was employed by U-M.

                  He did not.

So, whatever he did, he didn't get compensation from U-M.

                  • Right. I think it was mostly his own money and it sounds like Uncle T chipped in some way. Don't know the full story. Talent, where did you hear that Connor said that? I didn't think he was talking.

                    • I don't know what you guys think of Rich Eisen but I think it is the best monologue he's ever done. LMK what you think.

Michigan alum Rich Eisen reacts to Wolverines’ HC Jim Harbaugh accepting his 3-game suspension by the Big Ten Conference for stealing opponents’ signs agains...

                      • I like Rich a lot and he sums up how most Michigan fans are feeling right now. I appreciate how he continually drives home the point that the sign-stealing operation has been taken out "root and branch". It's gone. If they beat OSU and win the Big Ten there should be no whining about them cheating. Likewise if they actually win a playoff game (or 2). Everyone has had ample time to make necessary adjustments. Just go out there and win.

                        • Jim Brandstatter had a similar take as Eisen's.

lI can't link it here because its on my smartphone.

There is a theory out there that says Harbaugh decided to take the punishment because he became aware of Partridge's involvement in the scheme. Harbaugh decided to take the punishment, if it would end the Big Ten's investigation, i.e. falling on his sword for the players and the program. Both sides agreed, and here we are.

Its a stretch, but there could be a tad of truth to that. It doesn't excuse anything. Its just a theory.

                          • Yesterday, I said I felt the same way on the day Bo Schembechler died.

Today is the anniversary of the day he died. 17 years ago today.
